what to do with engine oil

just wondering, where does everyone dump their used engine oil? i've got like close heaps of old cartons of used engine oil after i've done an oil change. do people chuck this into their normal bins or is their a place to take it to to dump?

Monash Council recycling station on Ferntree Gully Rd accepts old oil and batteries. Costs a couple $, but better for the environment.

You could always give it to the local fish and chip shop. They need batteries as well.

INASNT has just offered to take all our oil and bury it in his back yard. I think that is really clever, soon he is going to have more oil in his back yard than the whole of the middle east.

Just give it to your cheapskate mates - I've got a mate who takes all my 5000km old Mobil 1 and puts it in his 1986 Corolla Seca. We both get the reward - I get rid of my waste, he gets oil that's much fresher than what's in his car
