well I spose this is the walk of shame of sorts. I bought an intercooler from a guy for what i thought was a fantastic price for a name brand intercooler hence -> (trust). Not knowing my stuff has landed me in the shit How? By paying too much for an intercooler that was a fake.

About 100 viewers saw the add within a 3 hour period and blitz (a moderator) asked me to prove its originality, well i couldn't.

As I read the reply's from some helpfull members who wern't so quick to burn me at the stake (raz0r$harP) I quickly relised that i had been swindled. no stamp and the fact that trust don't spray paint 'TRUST' on their cores.

Anyway the cooler looks the goods nice welds, endtanks were aligned well and ribbed on the ends to stop hose pop offs, polised for a bit of extra wank.

i called up the guy who sold it to me and he had this to say.

The cooler is made in china as apparently the trust ones are made. he has a contact there from his importing adventures that makes his coolers in the same factory as the trust ones are made. same people etc etc. now that is all fine and dandy but its simply not a "trust cooler" so guys if your in the market for an original product then "Do your research" and make sure its the genuine item.

cheers The sherrid

well this is one reason why allowing further posts in threads *is* sometimes warranted, so that things like this can be prevented. But I agree 95% of the time they are to shit stir or pointless (guilty!)

You always get what you pay for. Funny how many things are meant to come from the "same factory" when they are a copy

As long as you didn't pay too much (i hope!) you should be able to get reasonable money for it. May even work ok as a cooler you never know.

Research you rights through ebay (if that's where you bought it). If the thing was misrepresented, which it clearly was, you might be surprised at what recourse is open to you with respect to fraudulent transactions.

Did you buy this from Ebay with a guy nick'ed Dandeloo??

If you did I almost bought one too- I asked him if it was genuine and then he said no but told me the same thing you've been told- you have the right to retract on the deal or get your money back for this Im pretty sure- I was able to back out of it because of that

the guy uses a pic of a trust intercooler in the description

Cheers to all,

I bought it some time ago from a guy in dandenong. He has offered to totally refund my money so as long as i don't implicate him. so its probably best that i don't. If blitz would like to place this thread somewhere where others could benefit from it i can still send you the original photos of it for closer inspection.
