Angry, Upset, Bite The Dust Hard !!!!

Recommended Posts

Thats farked up man.

Try salvage as much as you can, and with the help of a few people you might be able to get it back on the road. If not sell the parts atleast and you will get a few $$ back. Did the cops get called after the accident since ur friend had to be cut out of the car?

what ive learnt in life is that you and your family come first, then its friend. sometimes its good to be selfish within reason. if ur friends are truly your friends then they would respect you all the more for that. your car is like ur sister/gf....you dont want any of your friends touching them:D:D but yeah id seriously question the loyalty of ur friend as to why he didnt tell u he lost his license, why he wanted to drive your car even though he knew he lost his license, and is he gonna take some responsibility for compensating you for car??

glad to hear everyones alright though. u should seriously get checked out cause my high-school mate was in an accident and he seemed fine but a day or so later died from a clot in the brain or something like that. better to be safe than sorry!!

At least you are OK!

However, like many other people have said, i would talk to your friend about reimburstment for the damage. Even if it was a small amount each week/month for a period of time.

His neglect to tell you about not having a current license strikes me with shock! Moreso, why/how did he loose his license in the first place?

The lack of responsibility and senseibility on your friends part is to blame here, and i for one would make sure that they were taught a lesson. Who knows *what* could of happened - your friend and or yourself could of wound up dead as a result of this.

If he does not offer to pay it looks like he is taking advantage of your friendship. Damn man u seem like a VERY VERY good friend if you'r not gonna try to sqeeze anything from him, and if you dont, dont be suprised if it happens again. Sometimes you gotta be harsh to prevent bad things happening.

That sucks major ass... glad you are okay, nothing else you could have done so don't beat yourself up over it...

(...BTW I am starting a skyline club for people with smashed body work and blown engines, we will have a cruise soon... Just have to get everyone to tow their cars to my house, then we can sit in them, get obscenely drunk and abuse people with cars that run...)

West - sorry to hear about your bad luck.

All the best.

I hope your friend sells his car/house/lung to help you out.

To everyone else crying about his mate not having a license - what difference does it make it had no insurance! The issue is his mate WROTE IT OFF not that he was unlicensed.

You are alive and not in a wheelchair, thank god for that.

Did you buy the car outright or are you making payments against a loan?

If you still have payments to make I dont need to tell you whose address I would get the bill redirected to.

As someone else said, did your friend even offer to pay you back?

I only have a couple of friends with powerful cars that let me get behind the wheel, one is over 400rwkw and with all of us we all know if we "bend it, we spend it".

Now, how fast was the car going approximately? If he got cut out of it I assume it had some velocity.

I say, if it is actually a write off, to sell what you can and deduct that amount from the purchase and ask your friend to pay the balance in monthly installments.

Can I ask how long he has been your friend for?

Im really sorry to hear about what happened.. :D

Firstly.. Glad that you guys are ok.. (cos now you can kick he's asss)

Secondly.. Your mate has made a mistake in taking your friendship for granted.. I hope your mate has realized this and gives you he's car or works hes asss off to repay you.

Too many people are taken for granted these days and it sux!!

Hopefully you are able to repair it.. if not.. salvage everything you can..

I hope you get all this sorted out without too much trouble..

Good Luck!!

Hey mate sorry to hear your loss :(

Dunno if you remember, but I met you several months ago when you were still selling your car...

Glad to hear that you're okay. Make sure you get yourself checked out tho... what appears to be relatively minor injuries now may develop into impairing or debilitating injuries several years from now...

I just hope your friend has the decency to make up for what he's just done... I make it perfectly clear to anyone who drives my car (close friends included) that if they bend it I want a new one equal to the value of the car that I bought it for...

Also I think it's very bad form that your friend asked to have a drive and he did not alert you to the fact hat he lost his license. Insurance and reimbursement aside, I think that constitutes as a serious breach of trust... :D

That sucks.

If the guy was cut out of the car, it is 99% there were police there. He will be reamed for no license. As he should. Even if the car was insured, it would be null and void b/c the driver was unlicensed.

You are too nice.

Think about it this way - how are you going to get around now, seeing that your car is on a flat-bed? Pure and simple, your car has been taken away from you. YOUR MATE, if he is a good mate, should be doing ALL the work to either - 1. return your car to the condition it was in, or, 2. replace it with one of identical condition, in as little time as possible.

He will enjoy his time in court.

I'm sorry, I know he is your mate, but by all accounts sounds like a tool

Ok the engine survised, maybe one or two engine mounts broken thats why it sat on a bit of an angle.

What you think guys?

Also looks like i've got a few bit and peices for sale beside from the Engine, box and loom that Sam want. Main one is the ABS control unit that sat under the console and most of the stuff from the rear quater back .......like GTR strutt brace, hicas.....Stealth wing in silver pm me.

Yeah Roy, belive it or not my whole body hurted again when i saw it this morning after towing it back. I bought the car stock ass about 3 years ago then slowly build it up now it's all just a peice of metal.

I reckon i could get all the brakes and wheel hubs sold for the silvia boys, door on my side still survise, rear windows...Sam will do a compression test on the engine to check it out

Fark'en hell man!

Any word from your "mate". Take him to the ppls court and if he doesent offer to pay for such a serious smash sell tickets for "WEST DANCE PARTY" venue... WEST'S FRIENDS HEAD... I'll buy one for a $1

exactly why i have never accepted any rides in mates cars!! ... good friend has a gtr and he offerred me a drive in the car ... tempting but no way!!! not worth the risk!!! shit happens!!! .. lesson to everyone!!! sorry about the loss ... i have a small idea of how u feel ...

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
