hey guys just wondering what sort of gear people would recommend for a stealth install in an R33 GTS-T. i'd be looking to pick the gear up off the 'for sale' section at a pretty cheap price. just wondering what sort of brands and specs i should be looking for as i'm a noob and not quite sure exactly what would work best. would probably need to be 10" subs mounted into the fake wall in the boot. any ideas is great as i know very little about it.

cheers -Mark-

sony and pioneer both make real stealth headunit that's just a plain black face wen switched off (no buttons etc), one of em's a touch screen the other is a hidden face. Both mean that you don't have to take your headunit with you when you leave the car.

yeah i did the search. there were about 2 or 3 threads but none gave any specs on the best types of subs u should use. i'm really asking for what subs u need for an install like this and wat specs to look for.

10 inches would be small yet good for bass. Alpines require the least amount of enclosure space out of the common market subs, type r's are the cheapest i think but all alpines are pricy... the amp can probably fit in the back too if you manage to move a few things around

getrippedoff, before anyone can seriously recommend you a subwoofer to look at we need to know what it is you primarily listen too as different speakers suit different music.

Marty, as for Alpines having the smallest enclosures of the common market; they do have small enclosure, but not the smallest. The Hertz high energy series 10" can run down to 0.2cf (obviously the magnet has to hang out)... :D

getrippedoff, you can fit a 10" under the shelf without dramas. This is the last one we did:

The amp if small enough can go next to the spare tire. Again, this is the same car:
