ummm. back to the question at hand....

i would start with full turbo back exhaust, pod filter, intercooler, boost controller then see how ya go from there.

if that doesnt rock your socks go to the computer, fuel stuff and i think youd just about have your KW's :)

I dont use it to say I have ex amount of power, i use it to show the power I have and have gained from different mods becuase when it comes down to it there to be driven on the road/track not on the dyno all its life.

As for the 10mph difference well you said it yourself the car ran out of rev's ?

If it hadnt run out of revs probably would have run the similar MPH.

-

I have seen different dyno readings from just tyre pressure.

-

If the dyno wasnt in shoot out mode and you had the dyno 285fbsl you also would see more HP. Even in shootout mode The power would be different just from being a different dyno!

As I said this could go on for ever thanks for your input :)

Br,

The bottom line for me is, I can have a "clean" dyno run anytime I like and you can never have a "clean" drag run because you always have factors outside of the engine working on the result.

An example, one that I have used many times.  When I worked in the car industry we did some testing changing only the diff ratio, driver, engine, gearbox, tyres etc were all exactly the same.  We did over 50 runs down the 1/4 using 9 diff ratios from 3.5 to 1 to 4.9 to 1.  I am not even going to attempt to tell you the differences in ET and TS, even if I could remember them all.  But 2 stuck in my mind;

1. The 3.9 diff gave the best TS but not the best ET, the 4.9 gave the best ET

2. The 4.9 gave the best acceleration and ET but the engine ran out of rpm before it got to the end of the 1/4, so the TS was crap.  It was 10 mph lower than the highest.

So the car was 10 mph slower with EXACTLY the same engine power.  So how can TS tell you how much power your car has?

I will leave you with this, why does every drag racer want to run at Death Valley USA?  Because it is 285 feet below sea level and the engine makes more power there than at any drag strip. :burnout:

i got 200rkw on my r34 gt-t

apexi pod

apexi full exhaust

ebc at 10psi

big fmic

i rekn if u had a computer u could get close mabe?

Remember that an R34 GTT starts out with ~20kw more than an R33 GTST. :Paranoid:

hmm interesting .... i netted 21kw gain from just a 3inch zorst and K&N pod on my Redtop ole school HR31 coupe.Rb20DET.. i started off with just 95rwkw and with the mods i;ve done ..116 .. but by "SOP" feel i think has a little bit more ..since i was having misfire on optimax higher in teh rev range..the "plateau" .. although it still runs rich at top end now on ultimate.. it keeps pulling towards 6500 rather than farting and carrying on like b4 on optimax.. strangely

my 1/4mile "gtech" times stated.. i dont trust this as gospel thats for sure.. but 15.9 at 92mph. it is an auto matic slushbox also.

i have a cooler going on soon ..gtr cams , cam gears - GTR injectors and Walbro pump, an AVCR and possibly a T04 sometime next year along with aftermarket management. (still weighting up on building a fresh motor to slot in with the turbo rather than kill the stocker 16year ole donk) specially coping 18 to 20 psi on shoot out mode.

my goal would be to make 200rwkw ..do u reckon it should be possible with all that?

sorry to hijak

:S

Matt

Personally .. I'd go away from AVC-R and SAFC.

Go full ECU.

I am up at ~ 260Hp with 3" exhaust, twin dump pump, and Apexi intake.

Add FMIC and simple boost controller and go to maybe 1.2bar boost.

Should be good for the 200RWKW.

Then later on, look at bigger squirters, fuel pump, turbo etc..

It's endless.

When I first got my 32 it had a pod and exhaust and it recorded 119 rw kw's on 7psi.

Since its got a bosch 044 pump, 13psi, blitz cooler, dr drift ecu, high flow cat and it now records 158.8 rw kw's which is very practical.

For the future I want a turbo, cams, cam gears, injectors and possible wolf 3d ecu...

I would love to break into the 200 rw kw mark ;)

take it easy

Mark

Hey mark,

you sure ur r32 was running 7 psi? only ask because mine was running 9-10psi stock with everything from factory and i was under the impression the r32's got a 10psi actuator, anyone correct me if i'm wrong ;)

Cheers

George

My 32 has just 3" exhaust (cat back) and a pod filter and made 184rwhp, about 140rwkw. All dynos give different figures though. Have you taken into account that you need to replace your clutch as well, mine's gone (slipping badly) and i've only had the car on the road for about 2 months. Suspension and brake upgrades (just pads) would probably help too.

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
