Hi,

i just bought a R33 SII 97 GTS-t and i have noticed that on the internal stock boost gauge that it never reaches +7 psi.

The car is in stock condition, as far as i can tell, but it does look like it has been detuned by the old fart that had it before.

How can i tell if i'm running 4 pound or 7 pound amd if it is running 4, how can i make it 7?

Any ideas

Factory boost guage isn't in psi...  It's in mmHg...

Use an online conversion utility if you want to be exact but it's roughly half...

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could enlighten me what caused my factory boost gauge to shoot up to +7 when I switch on the ignition. I had been having this problem for some time now. I suspect it's something to do with the wiring as I ended up changing a second hand auto-transmission trying to solve the problem of gear not shifting correctly but to no avail. The car will start on 1st gear on D but will not change gear unless I rev it to 4000rpm or more. However once in a while, the boost gauge reading will return to normal(ie around 0 boost when the ignition is turned on) and the gear will change very smoothly and engage 2nd gear at about 1500rpm and 3rd gear at around 2200rpm.

Any views or assistance appreciated.
