I got the RB74s from race brakes on pretty much everyones recomendation. They seem to work nicely :P I think I paid about $120 or so for the fronts, but then I think I also got a rather good deal.

Yep ditto here also use RB74's they rated at 600deg celcius where as the bendix generic ones/metal kings are only 400 deg. On some days it gets way way too hot track and the damn brakes just turn into mush on track. They around $110-120 for fronts.

I just got rb74 for the fronts and Lukas for the rears from race breakers for $255.

I heard a lot of good things about rb74 and i got the lukas on their recomendation for the all-around package. I will keep you posted once i put them on.

There are different ferrodo pads.

The DS2500's are supposed to be the good street pad - think they come standard on the AMG mercedes. I don't know what they are like as I haven't used them.

The DS3000's are their competition/track Pad. I use them (cause my car is used on the track a lot) and they are awesome. But - when just used on the streets they are super noisey. I would definitely not recommend them if you just wanted them for the street. You would go insane.

The Ferodo 2500s can be noisy as all hell too, they drove me nuts in a Brembo set up on an R32 GTR, which is consistent with others' experiences. That said, I know people who swear they are super quiet on Commodores including HSVs and Corollas. I only fixed the squeal going from two peice to one peice rotors.

You might want to try Lucas pads as they seem to be recommended by DBA as a good organic street pad with low/no noise and I think they probably have better low temp bite than the 2500s.

Well I have the RB74s as well and I am very happy with them compared to what was in there before ( dont know ).

They work well when cold and when they heat up a bit during spirited driving. That said I have never been on a track with them so cant comment on that aspect.

But if you dont like cleaning your wheels every day then stay away, they are also very very dusty as others will agree.

Yeah they are heaps dusty. But then I have brake dust colour wheels to begin with, so it doesnt really worry me.

    • yeah I've never understood that either.... And to answer an earlier question, I write the date on open bottles and throw them if more than 12 months old (which they almost always are, because I don't need to bleed them unless I'm changing lines/calipers etc in between)
    • Nah, the one that hit the boot was a big steel locker, around 6 foot height, 4 foot wide and 2 foot deep, empty it weighs about 15kg and had about that amount of stuff in it The photo didn't give a good representation of the actual damage, the large ding on the passenger side was about a inch deep, the one on the driver was about 1/2 inch deep, right on the curve, where the inner boot frame doesn't let you get behind it with a dolly Basically the same issue with getting behind the damage on the centre of the boot We could have filled it all with bog, but my OCD would be triggered every time I looked at it, knowing what hides beneath  As for the locker, I did get the shits with it and put it in the scap metal bin, but, I pulled it out and it is now sitting in the garage at home full of car servicing stuff, cleaning gear and random tools, it's going to pay for it's indiscretions
    • Whilst I typically don't cheap out on things, if I can save some money, like $1000, on a clean straight panel, that gives me $1000 to spend on other stuff, basically free money really 🤔 🤣
    • Is the toolbox that damaged the boot seal the same item that fell on the car during the storm a while back?
    • Who are you to deny yourself? I’ve said this many times to myself and apart from getting what I really want, I go quiet for a while whilst working out what I just did to my savings and how will I afford what it cost, then, next payday…
