yesterday I got a brant nemsis alarm installed and since then my dashboard light hasn't been working, so I can't do the speed limit

I'd really like to get the lights working again, I'm assuming its just a blown fuse, I had a quick look but can't make sense of the fuse box, does anyway have an english map of the fuse box or know where I would find this fuse (everything works fine except the dash light, IE high beam indictor lights still flash etc.. I guess it could be a blown globe as well but where the hell do u find/get access to the dash light globe

any help would be great

thanks

You have to make sure the fuse hasn't gone short circuit :D

To check if a fuse is blown, shine a torch at the fuse box and look at the fuses on a 20 degree angle to the side where you can see the wire. Its pretty obvious which one(s) blown when you do this...

    • I should video mine, will prob do it tomorrow    Between 1st and 3rd, you could fit another two gears. That is how loose and wobbly it is   horrible:(
    • Throws on the FS5R30A in most Nissans of this era are actually quite short and direct compared to any remotely modern BMW with the S6-53 transmission. Those things have throws a mile long with rubbery vague everything. Synchro issues combined with a short shifter is just going to break everything even faster.
    • Only thing I'd add...is on recommendation from a good diff shop, I've used mineral oil in my diff including the race car for years. The synthetics can be too slippery and glaze the gears
    • 75W90 GL5 is fine. If you aren't sure about the type get one with LSD additive.
    • Because you're effectively rushing the shift and forcing it to go in - with greater leverage against parts that don't _want_ to go together. Short shift = forcing the gear in harder. Also Redline Heavy Shockproof actively says not to use it in anything with Synchros. Well, it says "not recommended" which is basically as far as anyone will ever say in a product statement to "Do not use" Generally the Redline makes the gearbox feel great... until it fails faster. https://www.redlineoil.com/heavy-shockproof
