Dyno Tuning

i was just wondering if its worth getting a car dyno tuned? ive been told to do it its the best thing eva and ive also been told that its crap and not worth the money

that all depends... if ur car is already tuned there no point... if u havent had it checked out... its always a good idea.

Depends.

Depends on the car, the mods, the computer....

If you have a stock car, with standard computer, then you won't gain much from it.

(exept for a lighter pocket)

However, if you've done mods to the car, and think that the car is lacking power, then putting it on the dyno might show where things are going wrong.

I've never heard anyone say that "it's crap and not worth the money"

well my car has had the RB20 T04 and skyline computer gearbox blah blah blah put into it and i think it needs a bit more bottom end power my m8 who i bought it off said it hasnt been dyno'd so i guess it wont hurt :band:

i got a Gforce meter off my mate and fu(k my cars slow!! like i rekon if i get it dyno'd it'll prob be better like it takes so long for the boost to kick in! i dont get boost till like 40 - 60k's

that will be because of the bigger turbo... u can try installing cams on it to try and bring that down... (from memory they help)

yeah i know thats coz of the bigger turbo but my m8 rekons i can get less lag than that if i get it tuned!

Can anyone recomend a good place to Dyno tune my car near the Brunswick or werribee areas?

do you have an aftermarket ECU?

if not, no point... and if you dont have one... with a bigger turbo.

id say hed have an R32 ecu wouldnt he?? being an RB20 engine... or is that not always the case????

if u do then u can get it remapped quite easily

yeah i have a R32 ECU i dont know if it has been remaped or not ill have to ask the guy i bought it off, i dont think it has tho just the conversion to the rb20 from the rb30
