I am going to tack onto this thread and add...

Just got back from picking the car up from Meridian, top stuff in spending like 7 hours fitting the oil cooler to my beast!

Was talking to Toby at Meridian, and he was considering organising a group buy on braided lines (though prob not before Sandown).

As for pads... thinking the RB74s might get a guernsey as a stop gap before I get these Endless pads. Does anyone think it is worth doing the DS2500s?

Was down at Meridian today afternoon and they were having a bitch of a job fitting your cooler :P no bloody room :) lolz but i guess they got it done, never saw you car before today and it looks very nice marcus.

I have just fitted a set of ADR approved braided brake and clutch lines.  I purchased these for $420 (brakes: front and rear) and $70 (clutch).  The brakes are a two piece hose with a block in the middle, just like the originals, and bolt up in the original fittings.  I have not yet felt the brakes as the car is still at the w/shop.

I have come to the conclusion that anything to do on a 32Rs (apart from put in fuel and wash it) is an absolute cow. Ahh the joys of 32Rs.

From what i understand you can just get away with DS2500s on the street, as its not just dust, noise etc but temps are ok.

With the DS3000s they are noisy and dont work that well when cold and most importantlt when cold they grind and eat rotors. When up to temp they work a charm and are easier on rotors so yopu dont cringe when you hear that horrible grinding noise.

Anyway thats what has been described to me and it suits what a set of pagid race pads did to my friends $2500 Harrop rotors driving on the street ;)

Racebrakes recomended the Motul 5.1 for me to use with my RB74's. Had no problems with them considering the money I payed. Motul 5.1 was well priced.

I'm sure there are better pad fluid combinations out there thou. I found that they were great for the first 1/2 of track day, but after that the pedal was a lot lower and spongier, but still was able to pull the car up the same with a harder application required by me.

Unless your entering compedative racing, this combination is A-OK.

I was initially going to get a set of Endless CC-R ceramic pads, but brent from nengun can't seem to source / get the parts... so... time is running out and I need to sort out my brakes.

Also, he uses an ATE brake fluid, one litre for like 50 bucks.

How much did those 7 hours cost ya?

Oh and i got some modul dot 5.1 fluid, rb74 fronts and comp 2 rears. Once the rb74's warm up they dont sqeel anymore but spew a fair bit of brake dust on your rims. Waiting to see how they handle sandown

Andrew's workmanship is absolutely top-notch - the bracket they fabricated is awesome.

Think i'm going to do the RB74s - had them on my BMW ages ago, my GTS't and will try them on the GTR

I'm using Motul RBF600 which has a higher boiling point than the Motul DOT 5.1 and works quite well... but it's not as kind on the rubber seals, brake lines, master cylinder, etc. Something else to consider. Motul DOT 5.1 is a good fluid but if you're going to do 5-6 hard laps at Sandown, you may find you're running out of brakes with RB74's.

Got pics of where you ended up installing it? Coz i can predict i will also somehow have a problem fitting it!!

Hey chris, did what did they charge u to do the pad / fluid change? was that front and rear or just front?

Ronin - I did the pad and fluid change myself. (I'm one of those handy IT people) I think the RB74's, comp 2's and 2x bottles of Motul 5.1 was about $250 from memory. If you want I can come round and give you a hand to change them over.

What he said. I think that the racebrakes stuff will be more than suitable for us beginners. After maybee a year of track days you can start playing with the expensive stuff. But when you move to expensive stuff, you will want to have two sets of pads and swap them out after the track. Unless your rich like me! (I survive on credit, the banks love me!)

RB74's for a GT-T are $160 set

Brake Fluid is

$15 a bottle for motul 5.1

$25 a bottel for motul 600

They also carry all Motul oils etc too and highy recomend them but one interesting thing he said was that they havn't noticed a huge difference between the range of 5.1 fluids.
