numbers = sylables???????

Recommended Posts

I have seen a few cars on the coast with stickers 038Powerz

I have been told that the numbers mean "masaya" (sp?)

eg: 0 = ma

3 = sa

8 = ya

Is that true........? If so could someone tell me the number translation for Riverside?

Thanks for all the responses in my other thread. I really appreciate it.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts

1 ichi = i,hi

2 ni = ni, hu,tsu

3 san = mi, sa, san

4 yon = yo, shi

5 go = go, itsu

6 roku = ro, mu, roku

7 nana = na, shichi

8 - hachi = ha, ya

9 kyu = ku, kyu, ko

0 = zero = oh,

Ppl sometimes just make up there own sounds for each number. Eg. with 0 = ma.... ma = space in Japanese so zero also equals nothing or "space" so they use 0.

As you can see there isnt any agreed standard for "ri va sai do" so you would have to get creative to make the numbers up.

by the way the numbers= letters was brought up when pagers could only handle numbers not letters like todays emails/mobile phones.

This syllables = numbers system is used in advertising alot when the company tries to attach a catchy phase to theri corresponding phone number... the one I remember most is: "mi-ni-yo-ku-tsu-ku" (324929) for the number for NOVA...
