Hey Guys,

I have a R33 GTR Powered Silvia and have been looking to up the boost from stock....

I was reading in Zoom about removing the boost restrictor to give you 1 bar of completely safe boost...

Well, we pulled the restrictor, and no power gains....

At the moment, I don't have an air filters as we couldn't find any that would fit. The AFM's are open to the air...

Any guidance is appreciated...

Chris

Not sure what you mean by a R33 GTR powered silvia??

you mean a silvia with a RB26DETT (GTR Engine) in it?

The boost restrictor was already pulled on mine before i bought it, but it should just act like bleeding off air.... and without the boost restrictor i've read you should be getting around 12-13psi of boost

Sounds like the boost controller isn't working at all and it is just going off the actuator springs.

Check that the solenoid is plugged in.

Pulling out the restrictor on a R33 takes it from 0.7bar to 0.9bar...

Getting the restrictor out also mashed my fingers :D

Wouldn't a restricter make less best... a bleed valve works by letting less vaccum to the actuator and hence more boost... if you do the opposite of taking it out then you will increase boost... try running smaller inside diameter vac lines, i picked up 1.5psi after going from 6mm i/d to 4mm i/d vac line from the boost controler solonoid to actuator.
