Alan10
Just looking for advice from anyone who has changed their steering wheel and had problems. The shops seem reluctant to change do to the airbag legalities? Any advice appreciated. I hear there is a momo wheel designed especially for the Nissan? Cheers guys and thanks Alan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52342-airbag-and-hicas-issues-1995-r33/ Share on other sites
GTS-t VSPEC
Well it's illegal to remove a factory fitted airbag system, plus there is some minor danger involved in removing it, been known to cause a few broken noses etc. Luckily mine had already been done before it landed here:D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52342-airbag-and-hicas-issues-1995-r33/#findComment-1031766 Share on other sites

G0DF4Th3R
yeah my mate had an airbag and swapped his steering wheel for another wheel though the new one also had an airbag - this was for an S15, swapped with the JDM model steering wheel.. try Top Racing in Bentley Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52342-airbag-and-hicas-issues-1995-r33/#findComment-1031930 Share on other sites
HIPSI
Hey Alan, Hope your enjoying the Skyline :burnout: Personally I like the standard steering wheel that comes with the R33, not as bad as some local cars (cough Commodore cough). Getting it re trimmed might be a safe option. Never knew it was illegal to remove airbag steering wheels though? Alan10
Hi mate - Very cool car, very happy with it. Spoiler Shop has it at present - New Bomex front end had trouble finding anyone with the GTR Front in stock. Adding in the white dials as well ( I like those :elaugh: ) Back to Cypher next week for some Apexi Pillar Gauges and new sound system fit and off we go again. Must be mid life crisis hahahahaha Thanks for all the advice guys, all of you. Alan10
Seems the wheel change is a no go. It was suggested to me today by the spoiler shop that a good leather guy might be able to add some sparkle to the wheel? Any thoughts here?
