mr180,

I just checked the Commander manual and it does say that the exhaust temp check light is used when there is a faulty sensor, however it goes on to say you have to use the commander to find out which sensor is faulty and replace it.... Not sure what is causing the commander to freeze on the Logo, is it brand new or second hand? Have you made sure the harness is nice and tightly plugged in??

Brett

Not sure if this is right or not, but I have heard that when you connect the PFC for the first time you have to deselect the boost control option if you are not running the boost controller or you get sensor errors as the PFC cannot find it (boost controller). If you do not have the boost control package, please disregard this post

Hope it helps

Steve

EVL R33,

Could you post that PDF file to [email protected] thanks.

The PowerFC I'm getting probably hasn't been used in a while, so that's why I'm thinking it could default back to the factory setting now. But I'll have to wait and see. Thanks anyway mate.

EVL R33,

It's second hand. Its plugged in tightly. The car starts up ok and idles... I dont think its the boost controller causing the problem as if it was it wouldnt start at all and I could at least turn the boost controller option off by using the hand controller.

Could it be the wrong commander?

Guest KILLER-T
Were the 3 commanders all off Nissan's? The info I have says that all Nissan power fc commanders apart from the r34 gtt are the same.

That can't be rite because Chris had a r33 gtst with a power fc He sold it and got a r34 gtt and used the same commander for it .

Sofar i have worked out that the commanders are not all compatable the older power fc's can only use the older ver commanders but the newer ver power fc's can use old or new commanders:eek1:

You mean that the Apexi logo stay there? well, wrong commander for you..I have same thing happen before..

Silver, PDF is on its way... It won't reset itself, it uses ROM to store the settings so even with the power off for ages it should still keep the tuned settings. Reset it as soon as you plug it in just to be safe..

mr180, it does sound like you have the wrong commander. Nengun sells them second hand pretty cheap so it might be worth while picking one up, that way you never have to run around looking to borrow one...

Also you do have to turn the boost control off if you aren't using the PFC Boost controller, but that's simple once the commander is working...

Thanks for your help!

Ok, so I guess I have a new controller and an old pfc... I still need to get a commander that works to see if the pfc is ok. If it's the wrong pfc then I will get a new one off Nengun. I'm getting another commander to try this week, so I will just have to wait and see if that one works!:D
