This weekend Noosa played host to the Noosa Beach Classic Car Show. All sorts of cars turned up as well including a moderately decent display of imports. One of the best cars of the show being the 1/2 a mil priced lamborghini (excuse spelling if it's wrong) Pics can be seen in my gallery (link below)

I think next year some of the guys from bissy/goldy should come up and make it a more "import friendly" event. It's only $15 to enter your car and its a pretty good day for all. Something to think about, its a year away anyway.

Was a good event, I'll probably enter mine next year. On my way home I went for a spirited drive up "the hill", I think I'd better get that entry form filled in and mailed away for the hillclimb for this year - they've resurfaced most of the road up there Matt I think you should enter the 33 too! I had no ground clearance issues.

Hopefully I'll get the GT-R in under the category of "future classics", the HRCC are a bit funny with modern cars in that event.

hey brad, good to see you on the forums. I'll have a think about the hill climb however ill probably sit it out this year and wait until i can be a little more competitive. Such as next year  I'll definately be up there to watch and lend support to fellow nissan owners though!

Damn you must have been waiting to jump on me that reply was quick!! I'll get that entry done this week look forward to seeing you there. My parents in law will also be making it there with their blue 300zx (g'reddy TD05x2 + 2x ext. wastegates + trust coolers etc...) and their black V12 twin turbo XJS Jaguar. I'll enter both my cars that way I should get at least one accepted!

I've got a friend at Coolum with a white R32 GTS-T who would probably with a bit of arm twisting attend the Noosa Beach Classic next year also. I recon if we do what the Porsche club did (and that is practically take over the show) they won't have any choice BUT to acknowledge us!

I'll look out for you at the hill climb!! The designated car category is SUPPOSED to change every year however i doubt we'll ever see the day that Nissan becomes the key manufacturer. Last year it was mercedes or something the year before that it was ferrari. I'd say they would go through almost every high end car name then start over again and try to keep us "jap imports" to the back. Meh every year the number of us there grows and I figure they cant do much when 30 upwards of us show up, they'll have no choice but to let us claim rights to the whole show.

NB: When the above happens we'll be implementing a dyno shootout, DB contest and a burnout comp  (I suppose i can dream)

May I also say that the judges at the show need to be seriously updated with what is good and whats crap. A HILUX won best Asian Car and a new off the showroom floor mx5 got second, what a load of bollox. Im suprised that josh's silvia won last year and even that I think was done because the judges feared the dispute that would have followed from everyone if it didnt. All i can say is next year I'll join the club and judge best Asian car

Haha yeah I couldn't agree more some of the decisions I've seen over the years for "best" whatever category car at shows has left me (and others) wondering. You generally find that the people who vote an off the showroom floor brand new car the winner are generally the people who read and believe what the writers of MOTOR magazine and the likes have to say!

Naturally we'll probably never see Nissan as a designated car category because as is Japan's way they copied what others had done except they did (and still do) it better.

Although we may yet see plenty of imports making their way up the hill provided the established players with their historics don't get annoyed with the fact that we don't have to measure our straight line speed in eighth mile (as opposed to quarter mile) to prevent our E.T's being recorded in minutes and seconds as opposed to seconds and fractions thereof (just kidding guys!)

Yep I couldn't agree more, in fact i think one of the judges had the MOTOR magazine and was using it to aid his judging (just kidding)

very true, but hopefully next year more nissans can grace the event!

LMAO :D Should be interesting to see some of the imports and what times they can pull this year. I doubt they'll be able to forgive our ignorant want to measure times in seconds though. What can i say it's not our fault that our cars go harder
