Hi all RB20 fans. I wish to let others aware that TURBO'S are not always the go. I have RB20 with tripple Webers feeding it. My own design and it works well. Is putting 120kw at rear wheels. Not much you say but is fine by me. I am after a set of RB20 Extractors , tuned if possible, but not for turbo unit. Can anyone help? I also wish to install a RB25 de head and all accessories and was wondering if it does fit without dramas to a RB20. Again any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards RAY

Hi Ray,

welcome to SAU! good to see some more C110 owners joining up!

i have been doing a bit of research into putting RB25's into the C110 (as that is my plan for my GTR replica), from what i have read (there is bits about it in the thread about the RB30 bottom end conversion in this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=15420) but i have to warn you it is a very long thread!!! try looking at one of the members, joels signature, look at the pfd document he has created, it discusses it a little in there.

you need to do some extensive work to get the RB20 head to fit onto the RB30 bottom end, the RB25 head fits up to the rb30 bottom with very minimal modification (R32 RB25DE needs none, R33 RB25DE with VCT needs mods to the VCT oil feed).. so therefore you would need to do some extensive work to get the rb25 head onto the rb20 bottom..(i think the water and oil galleries do not line up)

is there a reason you want to go with the RB25 head? the only thing i can think of is the larger inlet/exhaust ports.. but it would be damn expensive (just in the mods alone, let alone the cost of the head) just to do it for that, maybe goto an RB25 bottom too (though it sort of subtracts from the whole GTR thing)

as for the tuned headers, try placing an add in the wanted section, you might get lucky!

would love to see some pics of your car, especially the engine bay!! did you do the conversion yourself?

Kent

Hi/ Thanks for the reply. Yes I have done all the conversion with the motor. However my 2 door is a KPGC110 (1973) not common to these shores with 4 wheel discs. rear deck spoiler, flares and all the goodies. Has been completely rebuilt over the last 2 years. I could send you photo's, however I am new to this and am unsure how to do it. I also for your help if you have a 2 door, of the 240K body shape then I have ALL manuals in English and Japanese on disc and book form. I have been collecting for 22 years.

You may wish to contact via email That is okay. What part of the world do you reside? I am in Brisbane,

Regards RAY

mp3 - sound file.

What Adam is saying (in normal, non computer techno geek talk) is:

"Cool. That must sound sweet. I would love to hear the Weber/RB20 setup at full song :) :headbang: :uh-huh:

I too would love to see your rig. I've got a 2 door 240k, which currently has a P76 V8 engine in there. (Sacrilege, you may say, but I'm kinda attracted to the old Skool feel of the old pushrodosaurus). The car's not a goer at the moment, as it's my long term project.

I found a wrecker down the Gold Coast who claims to have about 10 240K's in his yard. I'll try to find his number and get back to you.

Oh yeah, manual on Disk would be very sweet (unless you have a spare hard copy you'd be happy to part with)

hahaha you're too diplomatic. Mine's rough as guts at the moment. No need to hold back - I just bought it a few months ago, so you won't offend me if you tell me you think it looks like a pile of pus (which it does  )

I just scored a full efi setup for the V8 the other day, and am planning to build a programmable ECU for it. That'll keep me out of trouble for a while.

My email is [email protected]

When you send the photos of your car, I'll email you my postal address, so you can post the disk. Thanks again for the offer.

Hi okay then what is the best way to increase SOME power I am not fitting a Turbo. I am trying to locate a set of extractors for the RB20 Hard to find. Not even built still from my sources in Japan. Ray

You don't want to fit a RB25 head on the RB20 block - you'll lose a heap of compression, not to mention that the bore size of the RB20 is considerably bigger than the RB20 bore size (86 vs 78).

I understand N/As really need longer duration cams than turbos, which probably means custom grind. Or you could try RB20DE or RB25DE camshafts.

Port the head.

Shave a few thou off the head to raise the C/R. Fit domed pistons.

G'day Ray. Thanks for the photos

If you want extractors, just get a set of custom ones made, to suit the driving you plan on doing (ie rev range). if you shop around, you might be surprised how cheap it can be. There's an exhaust shop at Slacks Creek who do work for a great price, but I don't know how good they are at designing perfromance exhausts (have not dealt with them personally).

I believe that a well designed custom system will be better than an off the shelf system every time, as you build it for your specific needs and engine tune.

Hope this helps

Peter

something like these would be what u want .. pretty sure thats a Rb20DE ..or maybe 25 .. anyways ...same difference ..

R31house in japan i think made these .. dont quote me ..just assuming that coz the photo was on their website. ..so the headers suit R31 ..so somethingl ike that would easy fit into your car i would think.

the latter 3 pics are of a rb30 de with solex carbies i think .. or maybe something else...

Matt

Enjoy
