just to go off the topic a bit... whats with waxing? does it add a layer to your car? I heard that it takes a really thin layer off your car, the theory being the outside is all weatherd- wipe some paint off the top and you have brand new shiny paintwork.

What's the deal? am i thinking of somethin else lol?

Yes, you are thinking of something else.

Cutting compounds will remove layers (as in "cut and polish")

However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone actually use cutting compounds on Skylines, due to the fact that it will breach the clearcoat, and it will ultimately cause damage to the paintwork.... the only fix for this is a full respray.

Only use cut and polish when you need to get rid of stains that are on the paintwork when washing doesnt work. I would seriously laugh if i see a person Cutting and polishing their whole car and the look on there face when they paint is stuffed :)

we got a yellow and black pressure thingy. I'm 99% sure it's Karcher. Been fine, not a problem. Had it about 2 years? Don't know about internals, but outside is pretty plasticky. It's pretty big too. i'm 6ft, and it would be a little below my waist standing up.

It's kick ass for rim cleaning. My dad just blasts all the brake dust off, so no soap, just high pressure water. Altho i never like how you are just hammering the brakes with all this high pressure water

anyways, i just use one of those green/yellow scotch brite thingies when washing my car. The green side gets all the crap off real easy :)

my current car being a 91 pulsar hatch before anyone revokes my SAU VIC membership for washing my car with a scotch brite thing :) R34 is still in f*cking Sydney!! :P

I use a super low pressure gun assembly.

It's pretty cheap from Bunnings.

It's called a Plastic Watering Can and you just fill it with water and then pour it over my car.

It's actually quite good as there isn't much spray involved and the water tends to sheet off the car and leave less to chamios off.

I brought a cheap one from Bunnings a few months ago cant rember exact price but was cheap.

South East Water also have a Rebate aslong as the specs are correct because you are saving water so it ended up costing $40 or somthing like that just had to send in the recipt.

Nexus120@ $254 is a good price if $400 is the RRP. 8 litres/min is great. s/steal piston.

Start a poll to see who wants what?

yea i got a karcher with the trolley. Forgot how much my dad paid for it but i think its model number is 255 or sumthing with 55 at the end. I dont know much about the other models but my karcher works very well, even use it to clean all those nasty driveway stains off the concrete.

Highly recommend it.

P.S What go-kart track do you work at ABusd... wouldnt happen to be Sidetracked would it coz there was always a white R33 parker there...

I managed to find a good special at Repco or Burson (or somewhere...) It's a little green Bosch high-pressure cleaner, was around $120 on special. Definately worth it, had it a year and it hasn't missed a beat.

Comes with adjustable needle to fan nozzle (needle definately being too much for paint - lots of pressure there!), rotating needle nozzle (no need to scrub rims anymore, it spins at a couple thousand revs and does a wonderful job - great for oil on concrete too) and soap dispenser spray. All are good-quality composite plastics, they have taken a fair few knocks and are still fine. Dispenser could be better, I think the bottle would decompose with UV rays if left outside for too long.

Only con would be having to run all the air bubbles through it before turning it on - it sits there burning itself out if it gets stuck on an air bubble. I just wet down my car without the power on to start with and it's usually fine.

Be worth looking into these if you can find the distributor.
