Hi guys. What is your experience of aftermarket fibreglass kits? Are they worth the bother or do they crack and splinter within twelve months of buying them (which I have heard from a few quarters). If so, are they worth the hassle of continually having to nurse them and fix them?

The OEM kits are all urethane plastic and much more durable. I know that some aftermarket kit makers, such as C-West, make plastic kits - but are they worth the expense? I also enquired with a local Nissan dealer about factory sideskirts and, Yes, they can supply them, but for over $1500!!! Are you better off saving $$ with a fibreglass kit and being careful where you drive?

I am not keen on the fibreglass, but would welcome any experiences from those who have them.

Cheers.

if you're just getting fibreglass side skirts or rear pods fibreglass should be fine if it is quality made. as for front bars though, fibreglass ones are a lot weaker than plastic, and will generally crack etc, with the slightest bumps. you just have to be extra careful with fibreglass front bars such as when you park and you should be ok.

Crack and splinter withing the 1st 12 months? hahahahahah!!

try the 1st 24 hours!!

Unless your car is a show queen and never gets driven much or hard then there ok. If you drive your car hard and on roads that arent perfect then stone chips and other things will destroy a fibreglass front bar in no time!! Ive been through 2 in 12 months!

fibeglass is crap, i wouldn't waste a dollar on it, except sideskirts would be ok for a fair while

but frontbars are just crap besides i hate the way they look, if u look at them from side on u can see how wavy they are,

plastic or urethane would be the only thing going on my car otherwise standard gtr looks good enough
