NewKleer
thats what happened the first time i was pulled over for no reason (other time there was a reason) - think its just to check anything outstanding, then he came back with rbt (didnt check the car) and after i blew 0.00 (presumably) i was on my way Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52697-my-first-defect/#findComment-1038214 Share on other sites
Tosh
I think it's mainly to check the car is yours and not stolen as skylines do get stolen quite a bit. I think that's a good thing they're doing their best to make sure cars are legit and recover stolen vehicles Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52697-my-first-defect/#findComment-1038221 Share on other sites

silver gts-t
i agree also but i dont like how i get fined $78 just to get told i need 2 front tyres i never noticed the wear on the inside of the tyre, if i did i would have changed them. a simple "you need tyres mate" and the defect alone is enough Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/52697-my-first-defect/#findComment-1038663 Share on other sites

T0nyGTSt
Sometime it's best to stay in the car and act meek. Ask if you can get out of the car and just have a chat - there's gonna be that 5% who are just not personable and well... you get that. But I've been done bad (ie. 30 over) and the officer was polite, charming, even apologetic and you know what... they're people too. T.
