Its amazing how this thred degenerated into disagreement and off topic disagreement.

2 more young lives lost because of bravado behind the wheel.

Any way you cut it, there are lessons to be learnt from this incident and discussion of it.

1.THINK

2.THINK HARDER

3.THINK YOURSELF LUCKY IT WAS NOT YOU,

BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT TIME WHEN IT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU??

IF you cant remember that time when you screwed up bigtime but were lucky enough to get away with it...

Give it time, you will!

I write this knowing there have been a few times, but then, I am double your age!

Hmm, i jus found out the guys that died went to my school (st bernards in essendon) thats even more hard hitting cos u feel you know them (although they are a few yrs to the jnr) my mate who knows one of the kids that died said, the other car was a prelude and they were mates and they were dragging for fun, and it ended in tragedy. That bit of road if anyone has gone down that road dips down and the tarmac changes from the smooth surface to the grainy sort of surface. I have actually spun once on the rain myself going under the speed limit! (cos my tyres was gettung bold) but i see cars crashed on the sid eof the road every time over there.

It all comes down to experince and maturity, i mean when i drive there now i drive well under the speed limit (which is 70), cos the steering gets a lot less grippy as soon as u hit the surface. Im also going to write a letter to complain to vic roads.

But people shouldnt drag on the streets, thats why there is the race tracks and drag ways. howveer my condolonses go to the family of the kids, i mean we have all done stupid things when we was young and some of us dont come out alive. And its the worst possible thign that could happen to a family.

u emphasise STOCK...how do you know if their stock? i mean do you know the modifications of all the stock skylines in victoria with fmic's hanging of the front? its also a pretty damn expensive rice addition compared to a simple pink neon hanging out the front lol

what do you class as stock? stock rims? stock ride height?

i dont understand your logic dude, fmic's are one expensive modification to just have as a visual rice addition to your car lol   :innocent:

Yes exactly, looks like dale is gonna own himself again like he did in the MAS thread

:runs and hides:

hey bro the silver skyline lives near my house hes bro goes my school its an accord with a h22a motor vtec its got personal plates NOCTRL and the black skyline is his mate neway yeah i feel sorry for the family cause they were close and that skyline was mean!

got a call from the local paper wanting a statement on behalf of skyline owners in VIC on the incident... my response... which I was told they may use parts of in a report on the incident.

"We give our deepest condolences to the family of those that past away and hope that the survivors are able to make a full recovery. Our prayers are with the family and friends of all those involved.

Our club has been formed to educate drivers of Skylines on safe driving and maintenance of their cars, as well as providing social family events for our members. While this incident has brought the car and drivers of the car into the spotlight, there are a few things to be noted:

The Skyline is Japan's equivalent of the Holden Commodore, there are different variants that range from low power passenger vehicles, to high power sports models. One of the most common mistakes made by media and most members of the community is sterotyping all import car drivers as young, irresponsible and thrill seeking.

We organise controlled driver education days and CAMS affiliated track based events, where drivers of all ages and experience can attend to test and improve their skills and become familiar with their cars in extreme situations. We would like to extend a welcome to drivers of any car to attend such events so that we may see less immature behaviour on the street resulting in more fatalities, which we do not condone."

What local paper?

Will look out for article. Did you give that responce on the spot? It was well thought out and very detailed. I think the average joe that reads it though will not care too much that "some of us" are responsible and mature road users. I know for a fact that the majority of people are more self assured in beliving sterotypes and will "PUT YOU IN A BOX"... my box is decorated with nudie pics and skylines

hrm...

Nearly every r33 gtst I see in places like chapel st [but certainly not limited to] have this mod - why? for looks, plain and simple.

do you look at the rear end and see if they have an exhaust?

just outta interest. as more often than not, a car with a cooler, sure as hell aint gonna be running a stock exhaust.

I'll eat my shorts if

Nearly every r33 gtst I see in places like chapel st
has a stock exhaust.

FMIC/Exhaust go hand in hand

Right behind you GTTR34 sure it may have been an accident but as the account for the honda driver says he hit boost at a bad point... must have givin it a nice boot hey......

well on a nice wet road, with legal tyres... albeit the tyres could just be el-cheapo ones... its quite possible to do it without a serious boot into the throttle you might find. If an inexpirianced boot, all the more likely

And just to note, doing a legal speed... (no matter if the car is legal to drive or not) is not classed as drag-racing at all.

So those saying as such.

Time to pipe down until its proven they were actually racing.

Which, by all accounts... bar a few hungry-for-$$$ media people and the usual police :bs!:... is that they were not racing at all.

Because there is more of us on the road than police... maybe guys might think twice if they knew 'other people were watching' and they could be listed as a big fool... just a thought of the moment Mr. Fanny.

and after the first 5 pages people would forget and not even bother to read the other 5 pages. Rather just post, and create another whore thread in the Vic section.

Spoke 2 a mate of mine 2day about this accident.. he was there when the accident occured.. he and a couple of guys were on the bridge that overlooks the tram tracks and he said he saw both the cars dragging and the skyline had pulled in front of the prelude and cut in front of him and lost it around the bend. He saw the liner slide sideways and into the pole.. now his not sure but he said the skyline had personal plates which were "NOCTRL" ... dont know if anybody has seen a skyline wif those plates before.. i know i havent.

My condolences goes out to the families and mates affected... its never a nice thing when something as tagic as this happens.

mates, mates stories huh? i love tearing em down with fact.

1st The skyline is black, the accord is silver, remember this point

2nd Wonder why you aint seen those plates on a skyline before? its cause the plates are on the HONDA.

Hard to confuse a black sky with a custom plate silver honda (point 1&2), especially a skyline thats wrapped around a pole. Very hard indeed.

How many beers or bongs had your mates and his mates downed that night huh?

early AM, hard to believe they'd be out there tram-spotting

next sh|t filled story please
