Bridgestone GIII - anyone used?

In the market for some new tyres, Bridgestone GIII's are cheap enough and apparently quite grippy - does anyone here have experience with them?

Especially looking for opinions on grip and road noise...

i have bridgestone grip iii's on my gtst 235/45/17 and they are awesome

1 year old and still a fair bit of tread left according to wear indicitator

done 50,000 with them on

what is the road noise and comfort like?

On my moms car she has Grid IIIs on her 530i sport all round. They're a lil louder than the Dunlop SP 2000s they replaced, but they grip better, and is more responsive in terms of feedback. I dont drive the car much, let alone throw it into corners alot but from what i gather, i give it the thumbs up!

I have the older Grid II model on the front left (which replaced a poped SZ50) and Firestone SZ50 EP on the front right of my car. The Firestone is definitely better. The G2 likes to squirm alot when pushed hard into a corner... SZ50 holds on like shit to carpet. Its a suprisingly very good tire... (and is the best tyre consumer rated on thetyrerack.com as voted by thousands of ppl!). GO here for more info;

I have them on the rear. They seem ok. But then my tyres are streched on the rim, and stiff supension, and 2 way diff, that probably doesnt help.

And I dont find them that good in the wet, but prob for the same reasons as above.

I have them on my GTS4. They were fitted just before a trip to Tassie, performed pretty well while thrashing along some of the Targa roads.

Had them on my Rex.....too hard....less grip....don't rate them highly at all.

BOB JANE try and flog these off as being equivalent to others...but they are far from it.

They're not bad.. do grip fairly well. General impression is not as good as the dunlops but they're probably on par given I've only had the dunlops on the pulsar and only had the bridgeys on my (r31, with ordinary suspension) skyline..

well.. i swear by them.. admittedly i think to give you an honest opinion i need to try out the Eagles.

I have them on my GTR, 10,000K's so far and they have performed very well.

One hard track day at eastern creek... No warpping or disfigurement of the tyre at all. Road noise is not that different to other tyres in same class. I am very happy with the tyre in the wet and dry and they can take a beating.... I will be hard pressed to put other tyres on my car.

These are just my thoughts anyway.

I've driven on both the original G Grid and G II. They both seem to last a long time, and have high levels of grip. I've noticed the grip difference between them and a set of Falken ZE's. I prefer the G II. In the wet they are very good also, even when boosting. Dislikes, wet tramlines, and loose surface.
