Anyone think its hypocritical that the new ads from holden or show aspects of reckless or hoon activity.

First you've got the SV6 in the testing area with the guy absolutely redlining the shit outta the car.

Then you have the SV6 on the road with the guy revving it and smiling the more he revs it hmmmmmmm do that in northbridge for a bit and bam reckless hoon activity.

Now i just saw the latest SS V8 ute ad and its got him doing a wild burnout. Even though you can't see the burnout in the act but damn listen to the noise its not hard to guess what it is.

Now don't you think we could somehow say look ads on tv promoting bad driving should be taken off. Maybe then Holden might weight in on the hoon laws being crap since their cars probably make up the majority of hoon behaviour.

yeah like we need more babying and censorship on tv.

Lets honeycoat the roads even more....they already assume that all drivers are retards that cant handle anything other than 1.8 N/A's going at 60kms per hour.

Angel, yep..the thunderstruck ad was toned down.

the commercial TV advertising rules are quite restrictive in terms of what can and can't be shown.

my current favourite is the sportivo "body-rollo" spamry that weaves all over the road to avoid LSD inspired attack-cones.

then hangs a sweeping left hander, again on the wrong side of the road.

moral: don't drive on LSD, and if you do, make sure it's in something inconspicuous like a camry. no one would suspect a grandad of taking acid.

yer i agree PHATr32 if you see next time his speedo, its only at just under 60km/h, its all sounds and movements and camera angles/shots

but yes it does resemble maybe a hoon, but remember unless you under 25, your not reagarded as one, as what happened with the 36yr old man caught doing 184km/h, but no hoon law inforced.

haha i guess since it's under 60kms per hr it's all good... ok then next time i'll rip it to 60 in 0.01 seconds with a bit of camera angle / lighting and it wont look so hoon-like :P

but it's a pretty ironic commercial though i'll agree for sure, fcuking burning it out like a tornado means i guess it's ok to do that / can be done with a car like that. it sure does convey the wrong image.

the holden thunderstruck ad was taken off because it was supposedly irresponsible or whatever. i think the new holden ad with the ute with "power to burn" is great coz its just a dig at the governments ridiculous laws. you'll notice at the beginning of the ad you see a private property sign. you can do what you like on private property so they can show what they want.

always gotta love the ****wit comments when a topic arises about holdens.
