ok, well, its not for a car mp3 player, or anything to do with a computer at all, it just so happens it will be using the motor system from a cd rom.

it will involve some soldering, and a few other bits and pieces. its something that I've never seen done before, so I don't want to explain it publically. If anyone is interested, I'll take you out for a beer and explain it then.

uneek... i can try to help... just post up what you want, much easier than PMing individually.

As for car + pc + cd drive...

try the car + power fc + power fc cable + pc (well laptop without screen) + xbox + 12" screen + 5 channel sound decoder + subs + amps setup in mine once its done pc and xbox working alternatively, as they both draw too much power (300W... eek) to drive synchronously. ATM I'm making a DC-DC switching converter for the xbox and laptop so I can drive em without wasting any precious power.

my mate has an old corona or something which has a rubber fallace that flips out into a very compromising position if you open the glovebox... apparently its a real ladycharmer...
