CruiseLiner
hahah, it was really cheap compared to over east, as the caryard was importing a fair few and only one to have import approval at the time i think (maybe 1 queensland shop had it to). it was advertised for 21k or something but after abit of haggling with the owner of the yard and the fact he said he wanted a few on the streets to get them more well known he let it go for cheap. he knew i was doing the 26 conversion too so he knew it would create some attention. little does he know it doesnt get much attention stashed in my garage for the best part of 2 years caryards over east still asking 25k+ for stageas today is abit pricey. pixel8r
caryards over east still asking 25k+ for stageas today is abit pricey. most of these would be Series 2's. Not sure that the price difference between S1's and S2's is really justifyable but there is a reasonable price difference. Most stageas over $25k have very low kms (genuine?) too so that also demands a higher selling price. Also you tend to pay a bit more through a caryard since you're also paying for warranty etc... Hopefully the resale value of stageas wont drop too quickly... stasis
personally i think if you want to buy a stag import 1 yourself. Its cheaper that way i think. Cos the more people handles the car like middle man somewhere along the line some shifty shits will happen. Like change to a low km speedos ETC. pixel8r
Yeah I dont doubt a lot of cars at dealers have the dash switched to make it display less km's. But the fact that they display less km's means they will charge more for them. I bought my s2 from a dealer on the gold coast. Not sure if my km's (~40,000 now) are genuine - seemed too good to be true for a 1999 car - but a couple of guys who have worked on the car and turbo have told me as far as they can see the km's do appear genuine. There are risks either way but after my experience buying from a dealer I'd probably import one directly if I was to look at buying another import. You just seem to know so much more about what you are actually buying this way. Dealers tend to hide a lot from you in order to get the sale. Just my opinion. stasis
theres actually a few general rule of thumbs when you look at the car. First is the front of the car. Cosmetically.wheter its good or not meaning n scracthes and stuff. second is the steering wheels. a 100k car on the speedo has to be a bit worn. thirdly are the pedals clutch brakes pedals to see wheter they are worn or not. of course these factors are just guidelines. my dad like to kick the fron tyres really hard to see any movemnts or not on the tyre when he kicked it. If there is movement most probably it had done high mileage. again these things can be replaced and compomosed. But its just to reduces the chances of dealers being shifty. Another thing when you ask them questions and how they reply you. I studied phycology only a few classes iwhen i was in Uni. when they answer your questions and they are abit like hmm, errs or any body movements most probably they are lying. Its hard for me to explain but i can picke it uo easily. so.. Noticed tiny wear mark on top of the steering wheel only a month or two ago - that could've been my doing tho... stasis
how many ks on your speedo at the moment? like my car has done 70k when i first got it. i confirmed this from the brake pads. The front was replaced with an aftermarket ones with about 50% left on the pads. And the rears are still the original brembo brake pads. So these are the little things that you can see. Tie rods see wheter they are still originals or not.
