How do I go about getting a level 1 Cam's licence through skylines australia? I want to eventually get Cam's level 3 before the end of the year. What abouts do I need to do. Someone told me to come here as you guys have Cam's affiliation.

Deej.

someone was right

You need to

1) join the SAU VIC club

2) apply for a CAMS license thru the club or direct quoting SAU VIC as your club

Now its unlikely but not impossible you want a level 1 license, they basically dont let you do anything.

Some levels you might want are:

L2NS: Compete in motorkhanas, khanacross and drift events (Level 2 Non Speed)

L2S: Compete in super sprints, hillclimbs etc

L3: Full circuit race license.

When you join a CAMS affiliated club, you are automatically eligible for a L2NS license.

The following Event Types are available to SAU VIC to organise and for members to attend: CIRCUIT, SPEED, ROAD, SOCIAL, MOTORKHANA, TRAINING, DRIFTING

The fees are as follows:

Club membership: $50 Payable to the club

CAMS License: $90 Payable to CAMS

its the cheapest way to get an L2 license.

You have 2 options. You can send it (CAMS license application) in anytime but if you do this you will have to wait until you get your CAMS number back in the mail.

OR - if you fill it out and get Snowman to sign it you will have a 30 day licence which will last until you get your official licence in the mail. The other advantage of this is if you do it on the date you are doing your first CAMS event you will get maximum time beinfit for your 1 years worth of licence.

PM me an email addy and I'll email you a PDF version of the membership form to fill out.

    • Yeah I spent close to a year finding one. I was even tempted to buy a RB25DE N/A head and port it out. That latter option, could still be an option.
    • My head recently blew up on the dyno, been trying to find a replacement for the last 3 months with no luck.  Does anyone know where I might be able to find one? Willing to chase down any leads at this point  Cheers
    • Waiting for a queue of Supras to get out of the way. Then the same conversion work to the box which was probably bought about the same day as you bought yours, by the sound of it. And hopefuly with enough Supras out of the way we'll finally get to do the box into the car along with the injectors and AFM so that the last 18 months of driving a highflow nearly NA can finally come to an end.
    • That was a long winded way to say yes....
    • Got my R34 gearbox around 4-5 weeks ago. Came into some extra $$ recently and after I cleaned the mess off the notes, I thought, might as well buy that R34 box I've been pondering.  In that time I've pulled the engine out, replaced rod and mains bearings, done a few other engine things that are much easier with the engina out eg PRP oil pump upgrade, replacing wastegate coolant lines, installing Turbosmartass turbo oil pressure reg, made some mounting brackets for some of my mods that are "hard to reach", converted the R34 box to R33, put the engine and new gearbox back in the car. Plus cleaning ...Oh my god so much cleaning when doing such a project. Yep I'm a busy bee, buzz buzz. As part of the gearbox project, researched posts and found this thread (In which i nailed it for the OP), hence the post here # logical thinking.. Not all about you old boy, SOrrryyy. Dare I ask,  how's yours going ,> Or you got it done yet, and if so why didn't you post any of the tips I posted to help other members? ???
