unfortunately i cant id the processor to find a datasheet/disassembler. i'll have a look into the addresses however when i get some time to sit down and go through it completely

there is another board NSX10AA which is a ER34 daughterboard also (not a multiboard)

do you get instructions with the mutliboard on which part you modify on the ECU to get the Microcontroller (big chip) to read from the daughterboard rather than internal PROM?

someone had to figure out the actual chip pinouts (and even the address table) from somewhere to make and tune these things. haven't had time to hunt through the binary properly yet....

I'll scan and post up the installation instructions tomorrow.

They are in jap though.

no probs i might be able to translate some of it

well looks like the badbiki mutliboard is almost finished. no more burning EPROMS since he is using NVMRAM programmed over USB. estimated about $200 but you wont need a burner/eraser. at this stage its program only...

www.bikirom.com

it has provision for the ER34 connector (must have copied the multiboard for the pinouts)

btw for some reason administrator wont let me view my private messages??

thanks for that. i'll see how we go with the translation!

sorry i haven't got around to disassembling the code yet. i'll try and get that done soon.

someone has also sent me pics of other R34 ecus with a Hitachi H8/539 CPU on board. this looks similar to the R33 ecus. thinking about a daughterboard for this since badbiki isn't doing those

if you could get some closeup high res pics of both sides of that daughterboard also that would be helpful to compare against the documentation. if you could email me those since those would be pretty big

I have a busted R33 ECU here that has the H8/534 chip with daughter board adapted to run a single 256 EPROM...

Want to copy that?

thanks for the offer but i've got the r33 daughterboard imaged (h8 chip) just need the er34 multiboard (previously pictured) pinouts.

about a year i borrowed an r33 ecu with h8 daughterboard and took some closeups, pinouts etc. the main problem is getting the parts (84 pin connector onto the board etc). the chips on the daughterboard have had id markings removed but we should be able to come up with a new design to replace this. the hr34 h8/539 measures up 128kx8 in size.

i just haven't had time to work on that since i've been doing retuning software for the emulator and maptracer im currently using

the hardest thing with the multiboard is getting the correct pitch cables but badbiki has got that sussed

:) Alrighty - trying to make heads and tails of this mixed up thread - WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THIS??

Got a Neo6 Stagea and interested - but only if this thing is getting close to being sorted out.... ANY UPDATE??

:D

Ed is getting his daughterboard fitted soon and I have identified the main maps and some of the tables for modification. Next thing is retuning the board with an emulator (16 bit for this daughterboard)

Last available version of LiveEdit for 16 bit did this but no trace... I last knew Lawrence is almost finished another version of this with calc'd maptracing in it. Sam may be able to provide more info on this

I can currently do 8 bit emulation and real tracing with my Nistune software

and possibly maptrace on this ECU once I can ID TP RAM location but would need another transitronics romulator box for 16 bit (romulator in short term until I get my 16 bit emulator built)

darkhalf - I am using this same board in an S15 next week, and have two emulators here already. Going to try and help lawrence nut out some problems, one of the issues is the grid boards high / low maps. I bought a second emulator and nissan datascan for Larence to help sort out the calculated map tracing... I'll check on progress....

Hmm I know nothing about this stuff - sounds like a few of you doing some good work to get this sorted - but the first post was like October last year!?

Am keen on this duaghterboard - can someone please tell me how long until we might see a post that goes something like this:

"ok EVERYTHING is sorted for the Neo6 Tiptronic/manual daughterboard group buy - just post your name if you are in, price will be approximately $xxx depending on numbers, and I'll order them on [enter date] and post them to you once I get them, along with all the info and maps you'll need for tuning to give to Hyperdrive; Dr Drift etc"

That kind of post would be WONDERFUL to see soon! :(

Guys, we are still trying to sort things out.

Can't really give you a time frame as everyone is putting in their spare time to get the fuelmap address table done.

If you can't wait, you can buy the table for $300AUD if you really are in that much of a rush.

yeah if you can post it that would help in the mentime in terms of me trying something with disassembly ... until we can get another binary out of Eds to upload to his daughterboard. the binary size needs to be 64K since 32K seems too small (like not all the code is there)

dr_drift did you just upload the 64K image straight out of consult (nissandatascan or whatever program) and burn it split it even/odd into the two 27C512 EPROMs (or emulators?)

    • Also had a look at the Nissan JP website looks like the 400r has a slightly shorter ratio than than the regular V37 3.133 VS 2.937 which from a guy who has driven both 3.69 vs 4.11 ratios in the S15 is bugger all. Seems that the AUTO Z runs the same ratio as the 400R but can't find any info as to if its an open or LSD? More often than not the auto LSD is open
    • Do not replace the power steering lines with this stuff. If it's anything like the Chase Bays stuff it will leak and be worse than stock. The reason why the reservoir is on the LH/passenger side of the car is because that's just where the reservoir was most convenient to fit. Don't overthink this stuff. The intake/cold side of the engine is pretty busy on these cars. And again, the hardpipe is designed to be a janky power steering cooler. In theory you can replace it with a real power steering cooler but that's really only for track use where boiling the fluid is a distinct possibility. Start with the low pressure lines feeding the pump from the reservoir. Make sure there isn't a bunch of junk in the reservoir filter. Be careful to not get ATF all over the engine bay. I hate dealing with ATF spills, you can clean it up and the slightest crevice will still release more oil that can still drip over time. You also want to inspect for leaks before you make a mess and can't tell what happened. Most likely you have a leak somewhere that is allowing fluid out and air in. Failing that it's allowing air in but not fluid out. Only place I can really see that happening is on the low pressure side because the pump will pull a slight vacuum to draw fluid in. Everything after the pump is high pressure or lower pressure, approaching atmospheric by the time it returns to the reservoir.
    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
