i own a S1 RS260, and im looking around at Whiteline parts to improve the handling.

Ive been searching this thread for a while, and as far as i can find:

the rear swaybar is a R33 GTR item?

the Rear Strut Brace is a Stagea item?

the Front Swaybar is a R33 GTS item?

the front strut brace is a Stagea Item?

the front cradle bushings are a R33 GTR item?

the rear control arm bushings are R33 GTR item?

Can someone please confirm, remembering this is a RS260 not a RS4.

hey all,

i'm sure this has been covered but what kind of springs can i put on my s1 stagea rs4 to lower it as much as possible.c myabe just past legal in WA. my mate mentioned something about the rear springs having to be from an r33 skyline and the fronts from a 34, or somehting along those lines. if you can help please do so.

and please don't waste your time telling me to use the search function, if you can asnswer my question please do.

There is no short answer. Start reading this thread from the beginning - you will only have to read a few pages to get the picture.

either a whiteline stagea specific spring OR get some new shocks machined with extra circlip grooves OR look at Tein superstreets (pretty sure they are height adjustable)

Does anyone know what the valving was changed to in the rear bilsteins? I want to purchase a set and just wanted to have as much info as possible for the suspension shop.

I would get a set through SK but he seems hard to get hold of (pm or work email) and not sure if hes even still supplying them?.

If not is it ok just to use the R33 bilsteins as they are, from what I can understand (I'm far from an expert) SK said they should be alright with standard springs or if the spring rate isn't changed by more than 30%. Is this correct??

R33 is a car Stagea is a wagon so you need quite different suspension front and rear. If you can find a proper Bilstein agent they should be able to set up the shocks according to your requirements (max comfort, 10/10ths cornering power, or whatever you tell him.

Hey Guys, thought this might be of interest, just rang Heasmans in Sydney about some bilsteins for the Stagea, told them it was a 98 S2, he didn't even question the car model, put me on hold for 30sec. came back and gave me a price of $285 each for the front $235 for the rear, no mention of GTR, GTS-T. Said he had them in stock.

Going down tomorrow to check it out

anyone????

Well i can answer the rear strut brace Q

RHD has most things at great prices(when the exchange rate is good) and ships nice and quick

For future reference:

Cusco: http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Cusco-Alum...ar-Type-OS-9597 360delivered (on the 27/2/09)

Greddy: http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/TRUST-GRed...Strut-Bar-11320 290delivered (on the 27/2/09)

You are viewing a Trust Greddy Aluminum triple tube Rear strut bar. Due to the triple tube design they are more rigid than the Cusco (only twin tube) units that we have for sale as well. The Greddy imprint in the bar is very attractive and bold. It is the only bar that dares to put its brand name right up under the hood and in your face. Only Trust Greddy, no other!

I was hunting around for suspension/shock stuff - since the price of the aussie dollar is crap i can't get coilovers...I was looking at a bilstein catalogue online and found this:

Stagea (WGNC34) Kombi/Station Wagon 4WD - 03.97- FRONT: BE5-2590 REAR: BE5-2589

I was wondering if that is correct - maybe SK or others can confirm..

Yeah, I have seen it before too. Apparently they are much harder to get.

Heasmans, (the Aust distributor of Bilsteins) recommend

B46-1471 for the front (r32 GTR)

B46-1916 for the rear (r33 gts-t)

apparently they have fitted quite a few $1144 for the full set

Go to quadrant in berwick, i MIGHT be able to organise a SLIGHTLY lower price through a suspension engineer i know, but its a big MAYBE

he will also get them valved to suit, as he has driven mine and told me what to change it too for stock springs :glare:

PM me if interested

for future upgrades, this looks to be the best off the shelf setup for a street car, spring rates look perfect as does the height. http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/NISMO-S-Tu...34-4WD-AT-56129

Nah imo the spring rates are too soft and that is alot of money for essentially a non adjustable setup that will only lower the car around 20mm.

You would be far better off going and buying some good dampers e.g. Bilstein / Koni and a set of matched Eibach, Whiteline or Lovells springs.

I don't know why everyone is so nervous about suspension don't be scared to go and match your own setup to get the ride you want. Any good suspension shop can advise a reasonable setup depending on your requirements.

I recommend the following. If your not getting a matched set of coilovers get the best name brand dampers you can afford. Then buy a set of off the shelf springs and specify your rates. Good spring manufactures offer almost an endless variety of weights / diameters depending on your requirements. The main thing is you just have to know what you are going to use your car for and match the rates accordingly.

3-4kg springs are only slightly firmer than std good for street driving imo

I run 6.8kg rear and 8kg front but my car is manual and I plan on running it in a few track days so I wanted a firmer setup, still reasonably comfortable for street use though. (My rates are based on the nismo setup for the RS260)

I have heard of people running up to 10 and 12 kg springs in a stagea. This would be bloody hard though and not what I would recommend.

I got a response back from Adam at Tuspeed yesterday for price and availabilty of Bilsten Stagea shocks (as mentioned in my privious post)

Apologies for the delayed response. Definitely can get them - price is

$325 per shock. They need to be ordered in - will take approx 6 weeks from Germany, Let me know and I'll get it all organised

so $1300 for the full set...hmm..

i got sent stagea shocks by SK and send em back as they were the same as the ones i already had!

    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
    • That depends, someone might offer me a good price to resell it Mark... Ha ha ha!   I can get it wrapped in a really nice looking carbon fiber vynil if you want?
    • I ❤️ Matty I would like to thank Matty for going out his way in securing me a OEM NC detachable hard top for the NC Matty, your worth your weight in gold, and I cannot say how much I really appreciate your outstanding help I'll get it colour matched once I pick it up sometime in Dec-Jan 😁
    • We have some genuine Japanese legally decommissioned car number plates now in stock 🙂 Add some legitimately obtained JDM style to your Skyline or other Japanese model, or simply as a garage/man cave decoration! About the 40mm hole: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport in Japan recognised the popularity of keeping decommissioned plates among car enthusiasts and came up with a method to "destroy" (or render them unusable for street use) while still retaining their collectable/usable value for display etc.  We have 40mm hole covers available to cover the hole nicely with a Sakura motif, which are also available in white in (very!) limited quantities, however they frequently sell out. Please let me know if you're wanting one or more of these and I'll check availability. The Sakura motif covers are more common. https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set-su-7515 https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-400mm-hole-cover *Please note that we can't obtain particular number or area name (eg: "Gunma 500 Fu ・86") if requested. All plates are provided as they become available after decommissioning.
