Yes - but only 9 PSI ( on a 3040)

Boost won't hurt your run in as long as it's controlled and gradual - Load is good for run in - as long as it is controlled - like I said.

Stay away from constant revs during run in ! Change gears a lot

first 500 kms of my new motor...

Rings were bedded in on the Dyno. Dunno whats involed there exactly. So i wont comment much.

Then 10psi the day after it was tuned, till i changed my gate spring 2 days later...

Few dramas, sorted em out after about 100km's it was up @ 16psi ~270rwkw...

Definately saw rev-limiter here and there by mistake as it gets there fast lol.

Then my turbo died... my fault it seems from the past days on the old motor where it got some rough treatment :Oops:

So ive done 500kms now, and a a good 20-30 dyno runs on 16psi/270rwkw

Once the turbo is back in in a few weeks and then 18-20psi out of a Garrett GT30

My engine builder said the rings bed in almost straight away.. and that as long as you don't screw the car for the first while, and use the right run in oil, it's fail proof :rolleyes:

He said most engine shops say 1000k or more, as by the time you get to that many k's you have forgotten about blaming them for anything. lol

my mate had his new motor run in on the dyno, the mechanic ran the motor lean so that the rings would heat up and bed in quickly and that was it! Started doing power runs!

Sounds like a good idea to me, running in a new motor on the street dosn't make much sense when u can do it in 5mins by controlling the fuel, idnition and load on a dyno.
