Does anyone know that MItsubishi Pajero (i think its mitsubish, correct me if im wrong lol) means wanker in spanish? Well the word Pajero does. So when mitsubishi was marketing for america, they had to chance the name to something else which i forget because there is a large spanish population in america...i learnt this in school sometime...

And I suppose the 'S' stands for Sports...?
haha yeah it did LOL...BUT at least it had some extra performance compared to the normal Laser (1.8 EFI engine instead of 1.6 carby). And it had some extras like alloy wheels, better seats & trim, and sports steering wheel, 4 wheel disc brakes.

still a LONG way from being a "sports" car though :D:D

GT is a term reallllllllly thrown about............there are so few cars that would qualify for the job that a Grand Tourer was built for...........

A GT is a car designed to travers continents.......namely europe.........with room for 2 + luggage...............

i'm not sure if the GT skylines fit that role...................

good examples of a GT is the BMW 6 series coupe and Bently GT.

can anyone add to that definition? i cant remember where i lernt that.

I don't think it matters what name they call them coz I have trouble reading any of their badges in my rear view. I suppose that's why some of those idiots get around with that full windscreen wide sticker that says 'HOLDEN' or 'MITSUBISHI'. They should put the letters backwards so I know what piece of crap I just carved up.

( a little off topic there but anyway)

It doesn't matter what car any of the manufacturers release, there is always going to be some moron out there who can make it look totally rediculous by putting a huge wing or huge stereo on it. Or better still lets get our new 'Sportivo' and put Apexi and Blitz stickers all over it.

Just on that sticker deal, what is the go? I drive past a holden with a big ass holden sticker on the windscreen and I think... holy shit thats a holden??? thank god they put that sticker on to tell me that I would have been lost otherwise.

yeah and ford had it's "pinto" which means small dick in portugese and honda was gonna name the jazz fitta in europe which refer to a womans privates (dunno which) in some european language

what about the Ralliart Lancer VRX... with 90kw (at the flywheel) of rubber smokin power. Inspired from the EVO my ass. They just cramed a VRX badge on it and now its classified a "rally-car"...
um your right there marty with the motor it dose not change but as for the car you go from 15" 4 studs up to 16" 5 studs wheels on the VRX you get a body kit thats full front & rear bars not just add ons + side flairs & skirts + 4 wheel disc breaks & ABS also clear rally art tail lamps + better ride & handling

inside u get full sports seats with 5 way adjustment in the front & cruze control air con,4 air bags & a better sound system

so with some of what ur saying is right just take a closer look :)

I guess its been since holden were using that same pushrod-cam engine since 1988 (i think) and they want EVERYONE to know about it.

Ha!!! The Holden engines are based on a 1956 Buick design... so it must be something special when they bring something new out!

Hmmm...  Debate on the Camry Sportivo - my old man bought one just over a year ago, and I took it for a test drive before he decided he was gonna make the purchase.  I'd read in a few mags that the Sportivo had different suspension tuning to the rest of the range, and that the Sportivo tune was the only one that Toyota should have released the car with.

So, I had a chance to take lower-spec car out and try it against the Sportivo, and did notice a big difference between it and the regular-spec cars.  The regular cars are sloppy in general, but the Sportivo is decently tight (considering its intended market) and has a good ride/handling compromise.  

It's still not a sports car, but it shits all over my (standard except for 195/50/15 tyres on alloys) 10yo AE-92 Corolla, and the ride/handling compromise is better than the 2001 Audi A4 1.8t that he also owns.  I dorve that yesterday, and although the handling is pretty good, I was pretty tired after my drive on less-than-perfect roads due to being jolted around on the too-tight suspension.  

Depending on the quality of the roads, I think I'd rather drive the Camry over the Audi now - if only the old man hadn't decided that 4 cylinders was enough, and that he's too old now to press a clutch and drag a shifter around...  Oh well, it's his car, so his decision.

As for stupid car names (and as I've posted in other threads before):  who was the clown that decided "Hyundai" and "Excel" were appropriate together?

      This is a story of my life things, I learned eventually (thanks to someone calling me out) that my enthusiasm for discussing and sharing ideas that it came across as arrogance and I'm like... WTF?!    One thing I'm pretty sure I justifiably pride myself on is knowing that everyone will have things they can teach you, and you're always going to find out that something you think you know turns out wrong - you just don't know what it is until you get there.   Just the bursting enthusiasm that comes with ADHD when you hit something that gives you dopamine dumps can come across like you think everyone else is wrong or don't matter. But yeah, I'm a software engineer by trade and also do tuning in weekends and 100% have long had a reputation for  quickly making connections when resolving problems or forming solutions that I've sometimes had to take people form a long walk from start to end to explain how I ended up where I did when it's seemed "too simple" when I've stated my initial case, and had the "WTF" type reaction when they've realised how much was actually considered haha.   My reward is that I get all the curly problems thrown at me.

      Wives never seem to find things funny. Especially when they're trying to sleep, and you've found the new funniest thing ever. I've never seen someone be able to get try and be cranky with me, while they're holding back fits of laughter... 😛   Also, I tell mine it's payback anyway. She has BiPolar. So the household can get quite emotionally wild at times 😛

      I'm not up to date on the latest, but for basic modifications like pod filter, lower springs etc you can get a modification permit at the time of inspection.  For more serious modifications you will need engineering.  Intercoolers used to fall into the mod permit rule but its been a long while since i looked it up.   Either way you will be able to get it registered, just a case of $300 vs $3k .

      Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
