Gday,

Just wondering if anyone had used or seen these oil coolers and what people thought of them?

http://www.modyourcar.com.au/?cPath=5_272&aff=pf

I'd like to peice together a bit of a kit for myself with a thermostat (for when i drive to the snow), an oil filter relocator mount and a few hoses here and there. I think where to get those parts has been covered in other threads - regardless if you have any suggestions on that you're more than welcome to raise them.

Ta.

yeah, just last week i put one on my bro in laws saab V6, except we bought the cooler at go gear for triple the price! (he's gona spew!!) the stock cooler shat it self and cost $1100 from saab!

anyways, it looked pretty good and ive been considering getting one for the line, especially at MYC's prices!

steve

looking at the pic, id have to say yes, it the same one except the one i put on the saab was a bit smaller (13 row). but it has the same shape, same color, same fittings, same braket etc etc

but how efficient is the 19 row cooler comapired to a hks/nismo item?? its good for a stock car, but would my GTR like it? i dont see the need for a filter relocator, and the fittings and hoses cost under $100, i used speedflow fittings and flame proof, oil proof, high pressure hose.

if the cooler it self is good, then you cant go wrong with a oil cooler that costs a total of around $270 (if the cooler is good!!)

steve

Yeha that's what I thought - can't go wrong.

But I didn't know stock cars had oil coolers - I thought only harder cars did.

Ehm - Yeah I'd like to know how it would perform also. I guess the name brand thing is always the way atleast you know there's some rep to it. With the no-names we have to go off what people who have used them say - and as far as I can tell noone here is using them, seen this post, or posted up.

I shall wait on a few more opinions before I go buy this but definately if a few people here have used it it would be good ya....

yeah well the saab (2.5L V6 engine made by GM) has the oil cooler located in the center of the engine (middle of the V) and these corrode after a few years and spew oil in the cooling system.

anyways, the guys at go gear sell racing products (suits, helmets etc) so i assume that they sell these coolers to people who race their cars on track etc.

im willing to try it out on my GTR if your willing to wait a few months........

steve

Well i'm just wondering if should go the modyourcar cooler and then get the relocator kit and all piping seperate, or just get fatz' (from this forum) entire kit (easier cos its all there).

I just like the look and dimensions of the modyourcar one better but fatz' one seems to be used by peoples on the track on this forum with (i assume) no problems and it's got all the stuff already with it.

Hi guys.... just saw you spotted our new oil coolers. I am looking at one right now and they are quite a neat unit and we have prices them very well. And now they have FREE SHIPPING available on them as well. Not a bad deal!

Not sure if what I said is allowed in the "rules" or now... apologies if it's not. Delete it if so.

What type of fittings do they have? I have a remote mount oil cooler atm and want to get a more decent core for it, but want something that I can just swap over for the one I have

Cheers, Chris
