Silly Question but How many litres of Oil does a Skyline take?

Hi guys,

The other day I changed the oil in my R33 Skyline (first time since I bought it - owned 3mths). I poured 4litres of oil into my skyline and checked the oil. the dip stick did not even show that the oil had hit the "Low" mark. I then ran the car and rechecked the dip stick. It showed the same reading. I added the extra litre to the car and all was perfect. Could someone please let me know exactly what the recommended amount of oil was supposed to be? any help would be great. Thanks.

silly question.. but you did do it on a completely level surface when you checked it?

Did you leave it for a few minutes for the oil to find its way the to sump?

Did you replace the oil filter while you were changing the oil.

Sump capacity (at H level) is supposed to be 4 litres + 0.4 for the filter.

I know r32s are meant to be 4.3 litres, put im sure R33s are similar, and putting a bit in extra wont hurt.

thanks for the help. I did change the Oil Filter and did give oil time to sit. all seems to be ok now anyways. thanks again.
