r33 turbosmart boost probs

i've recently installed a turbosmart gated boost controller - single onto a pretty much stocker r33 skyline.

now when the switch is 'off' i seem to be getting about 10psi with a slight flat spot starting around 4500rpm where boost wont hold. when the switch is 'on', set on roughly 12psi, i get a much longer flat spot where boost hits 12psi and just keeps bouncing between 12 and 10psi and the car basically will not pick up speed between 4000rpm and 6500rpm

so what im asking basically is, is this normal? any way to fix it? and has anybody else have the same unit installed that can tell me what happens to their car?

Have you disconnected the factory solenoid there on the inner guard, this may cause some of your problem??

Yeah i have.. i've disconnected that completely and still get lag..
