PMSL...

Have you been a good boy...?

I'm shocked to say, my water temps reached as high as 117 degrees on the weekend. Oil temps were as high as 125 degrees.

The PowerFc has protection against higher temperatures, built in. For example, if the water temperature goes above 90 degrees, it starts taking ignition out progressively, as much as 5 degrees at 110 degrees. Same deal for intake temperatures.

Thats preety sweet emre!!

Did you have a laptop in the car with you on sunday?

RB20 ...POWAH!!!!!

A comfortable 222rwkws....umm not quite as much as i hoped or enough to keep up with GTRs in a straight line but ill still take 2:1 that i get into the 1:50s at PI:whackit:

LOL...or NOT:(

lol - sorry mate, Roy vs Roy doesn't attract 2:1 let alone even money! The bet was with respect to the gtr vs gtst lap time debate (as the title of this thread suggests). You're making the same power as the gtr in question and you're 1/4 tonne better off. You're not back pedalling are you? :D

Great to hear your cars on the mend though, good luck, I hope you reach your goal. ;)

Ok so which GTR do i have to keep up with?

Scotsman, sh1t i think his pedalling prowess is ahead of mine but in the interest of a bit of fun ill wager a case of Crownies/Hahn Premium etc. The winner can sit down with the loser and gloat while we all enjoy a beer.:D

Out of interest ... what are peoples thoughts on what respective cars actually weigh? I have read kerb weight of the R32 GTST is 1270kg for an 89 manual. Apparantly 92 model isd 15kgs heavier.

So what is kerb weight...no passengers or luggage? Does it include fluids? Iff my car comes in under 1400kgs with driver, fuel and fluids then im happy. What do R33 GTRs weigh with driver fuel and fluids...1650?

If anyone is interested in a bit of a play, there is a weekend at PI coming up

That said if you give a GTST the same power as a GTR then i dont think there is much in it at all.

the gtr with same power mate! But yeah to keep some interest a case of crownies sounds good, I'm sure you'll be able to explain your newfound fear of the R to me over a decent dribbling session. :D

i think an r33 gtr vspec is around 1560kg dry, so add fuel @ 50kg, my overweight butt @ 85kg and other fluids it'd be over 1700kg's. No wonder the brakes don't last long!

Yep, had it sitting in front of the rear seat, wedged behind the front passenger seat.

R33 GTR on a weighbridge with a 1/3 tank of petrol, no driver.

My race weight with a full tank is damn close to 1700 kgs.

LOL…yeh but it has 180rwkws at 4,600rpm…and 216rwkws at 5,500rpm so it keeps me happy

Just thought of the reason why NSW GTRs are so much slower. You see its to do with SBS:) (Its been a while since GTR owners have had a panic attack over SBS….muahahahaha)

So they keep their corner speeds down. Maybe oil works better in Vic as I'm yet to hear of a GTR lunching itself. God lets not go back there.

I reckon with that power delivery mate you'll be feathering the throttle to keep the rear from lighting up out of turn 2,4 and 8.

Can't see why you needed 17psi for that power though. I thought you had a real turbo. Mine came in at 15psi and you know how fat the power curve is. RB25 wins.

Nah coming onto boost in 2nd it gets the power down, no wheelspin ;)

When I tried launching it and grabbing 2nd it moved around a bit in 2nd, but axle tramped a little bit, so I dont think ill be going to Calder tonight…might have to go tho the family do instead:(

My own 1990 R32 GTST weighs 1,240 kgs, 1/3 tank without driver. It has;

No aircon

No spare wheel

No tools

No HICAS

No stereo or speakers

No Rear seats or seat belts

GTR Bonnett, front bar, skirts, rear spoilers

GTR Intercooler (Roy knows it well)

Oil cooler & remote filter

Speedy Hollow Type R's 17 X 8's with 245/45/17 A032R's (not light weight)

OMP driver seat (not a light one) with 6 point harness

Jamex steering wheel & gear knob

Big adj stabiliser bars (much heavier than standard)

The Stagea weighs 1658 kgs, no fuel and without driver, so I no complain about about GTR's being heavy. :birdie:

We don't watch SBS much. ;)

I'll take a guess and say it stands for Sump Baffle Syndrome ...???

I'm off to Traralgon Sat for the night so have to ring Emre to see if he's on for a barbie.

Give me a holler mate.

hr31 with a gtr motor weighs in at 1480kg... no driver

it did have 4 wheels and tyres on board that I was too lazy to remove, so 50kg lighter than that ;)

SK, GTST lap times around the Island?

Roy, at the same power and similar tyres the GTST will be quicker....I'll buy you a case of beer if you shut them up lol.

And the reason SBS hasn't struck Vic yet is that you have been lucky....it will....

    • Sorry to sound thick....but what does the "faceplate" have to do with adjusting the odometer? Surely the odo stays put and you change the fascia. Surely they are not the same thing.
    • I know its been 13 years since this topic, but it came up when i was searching to fix my problem so thought i would add my 2cents in and how i fixed my issue.  my r33 had air coming out off all the vents except the center one. i went straight down the rabbit hole expecting it to be a mechanical issue, pulled the dash apart tracing lines, checking linkages etc. it turned out the very fine fly screen mesh behind the center vent was actually VERY blocked so when i had the air on face the air would take the path of least resistance and come out the 2 side vents but allow nothing out the center vent. a quick clean fixed the issue. once the mesh is clean you can see the air direction flaps moving inside through the mesh.
    • Glad that worked out for you. I think my Joyeauto one is coming this week but I won't get to install it til closer to end of October. Will update when I get around to it. Just standard CP and nothing else. Hopefully the cameras all work without needing to get out of CP and get back in as they advertised. My other worry is sound quality. Fingers crossed!
    • Yeah, it is possible. But like many related things (ie, alternators), it's getting harder to find anyone who does and will, given the change to just throwing shit away and replacing with new cheap shit from Chinese factories. If you want to pursue the option of rebuilding, you'll have to dig up an auto A/C specialist or three to find out whether they still do.
    • There are a few, but not that many. Also, there are no such rules when it comes to importing, just taxes and paperwork in general. The only rule I can think of is excise tax, which is 3.1% for cars with an engine under 2 liters and 18.6% over. About mods coming to the car, I've already bought Tein Flex Z coilovers and TE37s S Plus in diamond dark gunmetal (front 8.5" x 18" +35, rear 9.5" x 18" +22). Rims will be here in March. When the car arrives, I'll probably do a custom turboback and some exterior mods. I will keep you updated on my progress here! :)
