hehe sorry for the topic guys but i really need to know what has to be hooked up from the stagea stock ecu to run in a vl commodore????

i been told its difficult, but i cant see y? im running a manual box so is the auto ecu integrated into the engine harness or seperate???

im running stock ecu, stock cooler, stock everything except the gts-t 5 speed.

any wiring info welcome

wiring diagrams would be even better :D

cheers

Brad

Hi Brad, the auto ecu has programming that quite is different from the manual ecu. The easiest to explain is the shift logic. The auto ecu retards the ignition on gearchanges, if you use an auto ecu in a manual it will retard the igntion when it thinks there is about to be a gearchange. But obviously in the manual car you decide when to change gewar not the gearbox ecu. So you drive along and the ecu retards the ignition (and therefore cuts power) everytime it thinks there is going to be s gearchange. This is a most strange sensation.

You need also be aware that the auto RB25DET has a lower power output than the manual RB25DET and the ecu is programmed accordingly. The idle speed is higher as it expects the car to be in drive, not clutch in and/or neautral selected. The rpm limit appears to be lower as well.

My suggestion, find a manaul ecu. There are plenty of Power FC's going into R33 GTST's so there must be a heap of standard ecu's hanging around:cheers:

hey SK thanks for the info mate :D

so a stock r33 manual ecu will plug str8 into the loom? or do i need the r33 loom as well? will the r33 loom plug str8 onto the engine or will i need to run all the r33 engine sensors as well???

the gearbox ecu is integrated into the engine ecu is that right????

thanks again

Brad :how:

bear in mind all the c34 series stageas including series one use the same ecu and sensors as the r34 ecu and sensors so yes you will need to replace all the sensors if you plan on running an r33 manual ecu. So you probably need to hunt for a loom.

good luck with the engine swaps :(

:D
