Some Help with translation/info - very much appreciated

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, this request isnt for a nissan, so if u dont want to help i totally understand :P

I own a HC Cosmo Luce (HC3S) with the 13b turbo, and am having a shocking time finding a source for any aftermarket parts for it as far as engine/suspension/body mods.... especially not speaking any japanese

Ive found this site, which appears to have coil overs, an exhaust and even some sort of body kit on it... (in japanese ofcourse)

I was just wondering if anyone could possibly take the time to have a look at it and tell me if these items are for sale/whether its possible to buy/anything that may help.

The link to parts to do with my car is...

http://www.a-rf.co.jp/A-RF/hc3s/index.html

if u scroll down u will see a picture of exhaust and coil overs, the rest means nothing to me hehehe

the main page is...

http://www.a-rf.co.jp/A-RF/

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks for ur time.

Aj.

Mmmmm... the aero parts at least are "order made", meaning you order it then they make it. Having said that they're hideously overpriced! Those aero parts are just half spoilers and lip spoilers, but they're at "full-bumper" prices... the hassle of owning a not-so-popular car.

The coil overs are about double the price of new Tein or JIC coil overs, but they are Ohlins... top shelf stuff.

Even the muffler looks pretty ordinary but it's approaching the price of some of the cheaper Titanium mufflers. You might be better of making mods to an Apex N1 (or whatever) muffler to fit your car?

In fact the only commonplace (read: cheaper) parts that you really can't make to fit your car would be the coil overs but at 348,000 yen (A$4,360) without shipping, you could probably ring up Whiteline Suspension to design some coilovers for your car from scratch and still have money over for lunch!

Thanks for all that mate, I think in the end ill have to shop around locally, or keep an eye out on yahoo japan or something.

I was just searching and saw the coilovers and had my eyes almost jump out of my head...

Oh well, i guess doing some thing in Oz that hasnt been done much b4 is going to have its costs hehe

cheers.

auto exe do cosmo stuff too; http://www.autoexe.co.jp/ (well respected company in japan) - try the third link at the top of the page and scroll down :D

you could also try www.do-eng.com

also, try wading through japanese cosmo enthusiast lsites, such as this http://j09g.cside5.com/customize/index.htm to find useful links

good luck

even tho cosmo is not common, I'm sure plenty of rotary shops in qld can help you in term of engine and mechanical stuff.

I spotted this one only a month ago..

thanks in advance for the help

:D

Cheers for that guys,

unfortunately most of that stuff seems to be for the "JC cosmo", the model after mine.

Mines the HC, basically its the 4 door 929 shape with a single turbo 13b from a FC rx7, where as the JC is the 13btt or 20bt.

I think i should be right for mechanical mods, as alot of gear can be used from FC rx7's, such as turbo kits/computer upgrades etc.

Suspension is the major issue, with pedders and king springs sort of the only available without costing an arm or a leg.

Id love to find someone to correspond with in Japan that may have experience with these cars.
