This is another animal GTS-T thats just come through on the prestige mailing list.

What a steal wo whoever buys it!

The following vehicle is available through a supplier in Japan for approx. 1,300,000 yen FOB (in negotiation with the owner and still to be confirmed). The total cost in Australia at this price would be approx. $30,700 plus tyres, Govt. stamp duty and registration (normal licensing costs for any vehicle). Shipping, import duties, GST, compliance and our service fee are all included in the estimate. There are likely to be additional costs in compliance and registration due to the level of modifications, which will depend on which State the vehicle is sent to. Customers are encouraged to make their own enquiries in this regard - we can supply contacts in your State

This is a SERIOUS vehicle. Imagine the costs of building this in Australia.

... and what was the point of the above post?

Do you really think a car like that would NOT have been trashed? It's got a roll cage for crying out loud. Racing seats.

EDIT: Btw I'm not saying that it isn't a nice car and for that price it would stll be cheaper to buy it and do some serious repairs, rather then build one up from scratch.

You might say that all of these cars are thrashed.

You would think that a modded GTS or GTR would be driven gently by an old Japanese doctor's wife?

You get mods for cheap - I expect that any of these imports are driven hard. That's the gamble.

Buy a stock one but then again, you pay for mods in AUD...

    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
    • We import a lot of cars from Japan. I'd say that approximately 20% of our traffic is imported JDM cars (mainly consumer cars like the Mazda Demio, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Suzuki Swift, etc.). We also import a lot from the UK, but this has decreased after Brexit. Apart from the consumer vehicles, two of the larger, well-known dealerships frequently import iconic '80s/'90s JDM cars. I haven't heard of anyone importing from Australia, and they are not advertised (unlike Japanese ones), despite a lot of Maltese migrating to Australia in the '50s and '60s.
