I had "No Bullshit Imports" (on the Northern Beaches) change my turbo recently. Nice blokes there, really know their stuff.

Although they take a bit longer to do stuff, their excellent hourly rate more than makes up for it. They don't charge any more (or less) if they are doing something for the first time - they will tell you up front (hence the name 'No Bullshit Imports")

They are more than capable and really looked after me - Even had a beer with them after the job.

Cheers

Brendan, drinking a beer by yourself after you've changed turbos, still counts as drinking alone! Despite the 'work' completed prior to the drinking (or was it during?)...

:D

As i am a mechanic my skyline wont ever see a workshop, i have seen to many dodgy things in my time although yes, some of us do try to do a good job and dont overcharge. I look after a number of friends skylines, supras and other imports as well as many more mundane vehicles and they all run beautifully! Unfortunatly its true that a good mechanic is very hard to find so when you do find a one that is honest and knows his stuff stick with.

Chris.

Well I did actually change my oil (I'm not a complete halfwit). However, it wasn't simply the red light on the dash for oil, it was some other indicator below my steering wheel. That's why I was slightly interesting as to why it wasn't going off. Turned out it was just an aftermarket thing which was basically useless and displaying nothing (but the guys couldnt figure out how to reset it). It is where most people put their turbo timers (bottom left of the steering wheel).

edit: Hairball has issues. PM for details.

Lets get a list then

Unique Autosports = 90ph (tuning 130 p/h)

Croydon Racing Development =

Powerplay = 80ph

BD4's = 80ph

Belgarage = 60ph (has set price for most work)

Also..

does anyone have the phone number for some of these workshops.. Lets get a list going of work shops and hourly rates with phone numbers and suburb. It might save some future questions and help people look around.

Abobob - your right eh.. If a workshop charges half but take 3 times as long you lose out eh

Brendan.. maybe we can get a partnership between No Bullshit imports and Carlos Racing Development.
