Arias Pistons arived!!!

I just got my Arias pistons for my RB30DET build...

I asked for a the non-turbo pistons but the dome looks smaller than the stocks

has anyone used these slugs??? (part N# DOME/4VR-1)

If they are the non-turbo slugs the CR should be around 8.2:1... what is the best way to get it up around 8.5+ shave the head or the deck?... and what head gasket should i use.

Why would you get non turbo pistons for a turbo engine :confused:

If you want to raise compression just keep standard head gasket size (new one) or get thinner one.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought the dome of the n/a piston's in a rb30 block with a twin cam head achieve's the predicted 8.2:1 comp ratio he's after. Even the thinnest head gasket with turbo piston's the compression would be way too low.

Maby i don't know,

One of our r33's has arias forged pistons (rb26 ones) and it has lots compression even with 1.8mm head gasket.

The reason is because the turbo pistons give you CR of 7 something..

the non turbos give 8.2 but i need another .3 at least.

I thought putting forged pistons in gave you higher compression, it has 87mm bore size arias. - So i herd on these forums

the rb30 turbo stock has CR of 7.8 the NA has 9

the 25 head has a bigger combustion chamber

so 25 head and NA pistons = 8.2CR

turbo pistons would give you around 7.5

Did Arias give you specs as to what the predicted deck height would be?

Or you could dummy fit it all up and find out for your self.

Nahh didnt get deck height.....

i DL some CR calc software and i need piston volume (cc)... how the hell do i work that out , the slugs have the same dome as the stock NA slugs so they ant flat.

i might email arias for more detailed specs...

On my Wiesco box it had a sticker that had the piston specs.

Dome cc, pin height etc.

dont rocket just sell the 3.1 pistons

i know they have them in stock and dont cost much..

you know you want a 3.1 yea baby

By going a .040" or 87mm piston it increases the comp ratio by ~.1
