waste of money for the motec, stroked motor, forged internals, custom plenum, twin bosch pumps and surge tank, you dont need all that stufff to run 10s,

all you would need is injectors, 044 fuel pump, cams, bigger turbo(s) power fc, cooler, standard box is fine, and some good slicks you should get into the 10s with a few passes, then after you get into the 10s then you have to spend big bucks to get back on the track.

I know, I think my mind is set on 9's :/ But can just run it on low boost for easy 10's ;)

I agree with BU5TER, and that was the underlying point I was making. One time wonder or long time contender?

Butler, could you please let me know any info you have regarding the Apexi cranks/stroker kits as I can't seem to find any info on them.

TIA.

Charlie

You need 450rwhp and a good clutch and reasonable tyres.

Jade fishers R33 has Arias pistons ( all origional parts went back in inc the old bearings),smallish ITS plain bearing turbo and Wolf plugin ECU and ran 11.1 all last season with not one problem.

Single throttle kit going on now and i think 10s will be easy this season.

2530's you aint running pump fuel for 400kw

anything is possible if your not running  PULP

Straight Av gas.., around 100 octane. And that is not suppose to be the best. Have to when the best fuel here is 96.. and it's no good.

Be interesting to see what it would go like with some C16.

It's a testament for the GTR engine though, and it has done more than a few 10's runs without failure... I would call that consistent.

Not only that is was a daily driven street car.. damn I miss her :/

A note on the Trust 6 Speed box.. we removed it from the GTR running a T88 to repair it, he couldn't run good times with it.

With a stock box, he didn't have a problem running 10's. ;)

I hated driving the dog box on the street, it's just a major pain in the ass. They don't like to change at low RPM.

I'm struggling to get my 32R into the 11's let alone 10's and power so far is 370rwhp on paper and going off other cars should be into the 11's easy but it's not . Best run so far is 12.1@114mph with a 1.760ft , it comes down alot to your tuning as it's not alway outright horsepower that gets low ET's something that I've realised and am looking to correct.

Hi 7heavn

Unfortunately the best times for a GTR are achieved with a "brutal" launch (this makes me cringe every time I do this to my R). Your 1.7 60' time suggests that you are probably not bogging down on launch (your at 6 to 7k before side stepping the clutch, right?).

You are right about the tuning - if you have adjustable cam gears and have dialed in for max hp (at the expense of mid range tourque), you may be dropping off below the max torque in between gear changes. A dyno graph showing power and torque vs revs would help.

I was previously rattling off 12.5s with only 320 rwhp (std terbs) fairly consistently with 1.9 60' times. It sounds like more practice (and maybe a little cam timing adjustment) will see you crack 11s fairly soon. Remember to pre-load the drivetrain using the handbrake and take that 2nd to 3rd change E-A-S-Y.

Good luck.

id think bout changing diff gear sets also, to maybe 4.3 like the gts4 has

my 32 gtst wasnt the same with 4.11's the 4.3's bring the 26 to life over the quarter.

my 26 has 272 cams NO internals and a big single turbo its run best now of 11.1 @ 126mph im sure as is 10's are possible.

My wifes GTR ran 12.0 @ 119.34mph with me being very soft on her car, as you can see 119.34mph means strong 11s driven hard. Her car had a cat back, gmax clutch and a Wolf plugin using the stock AFMs but nothing else. 338rwhp.

We have removed the AFMs now and and ive been told by the boss to take it to the plex again and not to come home with out some strong 11s so ill see what it can really run.

Hey

Yep 6500rpm sidestep the reason I mentioned the 60ft is just to clarify that not much is being lost at the bottem of the track you see 370rwhp and 114mph through the traps doesn't make sense . My mph should be something closer to steve-sst's wife's car . Only other thing I can think of other then tuning is mine is a vspec is the gearing differen't?.

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
