Guest Rhino
A white R33 took up the stock intercooler challenge and posted a 13.389 , didn't have the stock turbo tho:p Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5425-cracked-it-at-last/#findComment-83063 Share on other sites
Gradenko
Damn, I didn't think anyone would have the guts (lack of sense?) to run a bigger turbo on the stock 'cooler. 13.389 is an excellent time tho, did you pick his brain about engine and suspension mods? Guest KILLER-T
So do u think the burnout helped your times or was the first run just a bad one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5425-cracked-it-at-last/#findComment-83231 Share on other sites
Guest Rhino
Chris pretty much just drove it off the line the first time I think, the second and third he stalled her up a bit. I dont think the 13.389 guy had a clue, he basically said that its the way it came in from Japan and he's only had it a while. He did mention that in Japan it had some extra stuff that was taken off, like the front mount. macka
Im beginning to believe in burnouts to heat up street tyres again R34 Tell us what tyres profile and height please...... oh what boost were you Oscar did a 13.67 silvia Ks after a burnout on stockies His best before hand was about 13.9 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5425-cracked-it-at-last/#findComment-85646 Share on other sites

The problem is that some street tyres will lose 'chunks' when they get burnouts done on them and of course they get 'inflated' as they get hot so if you don't run a significatly lower pressure they end up over-inflated at the take off. If I can manage to get down there tomorrow I'm going to try 19/20psi and burnouts to hopefully get less than a '15':D That is if my super cheap 205 rear tyres don't lose chunks of rubber and I don't drive like a wally. Everyone knows that the intercooler goes bad if you don't keep it in the fridge:D I'm really only going down to beat everyone who lines up next to me (or at least try), going for times is not a luxury I can afford as I will be going straight from work and my boot will have the usual 100kg or so of crap in it. Besides I remember racing at Ravo's and the best part is having a 'legal' race with another hoon and having specators (even tho they say nasty things about how slow you are at least you can't hear them).
