is this the one towards hartwell? dont know of any other.

i remember ringing up about getting a head light earlier. the guy wanted me to provide him with the part number, refused to help further, as he didnt "read" japanese.

sounded like i had to steal FAST software and find it for him. mind you i had to give the ichikoh part number to wreckers, to see what series model they had. 4d, s1 vs s2 etc.

but if you say they are helpful, might have to enquire about some bits n pieces meself.

I get awwwweeesome service from Gary Rodgers Nissan on Springvale Rd. I ring em with a printout from Nissan Fast and they tell me straight away if they're available or not. If I ring em at 9am, they'll either:

a) tell me they have it in stock

B) get it delivered froma nother store in melb by about 2pm

c) tell me they have to get it from japan, which is when i say thanks for the help n hang up.

Highly reccomended. I needed Tie rods for my ceffy as the ones on the car were shot to hell, and they got em in same day from another store for $190 a pair. Luckily the tie rods for R32, Cefiro's and locally sold Maximas are all the same.

my point was, as you said, you need to provide them with the part numbers. unless you download FAST (and get it working), your need to be persuasive. im sure its a piece of cake for them to source a part.

also had a feeling they were going to be rediculously expensive when i called, so i didnt want to waste either of our time. just a bad experience i spoze.

Laurence, did you sort out the coil overs?

No, fell into the "if you can't do it properly don't do it at all" box...

By properly I mean corner weights etc. Thanks for everyone's suggestions though.

As with any workshop's service, your mileage may vary.

My experience was good, so thought I would just give them a free plug.

What can I say... amazingly helpful.

I only bought $10 worth of bolts and plugs and they chuck the car on a hoist TWICE to put on the parts I couldn't reach. Fantastic. Highly recommended.

This is what I experienced when there too :( The guy even gave me a demo on the FAST software and how phucking amazing it is!

if anyone needs their part numbers looked up on FAST, all I need is your original VIN number (blue plate) and description and I can send you a screen grab of what you need, or a table listing all the parts and other models that you can source them from :(

Ok, ill put my experience to them having a bad/lazy day.

So are nissan dealers worth talking to then? I was under the impression they either a) dont want to know about imports, B) rape hard on prices.

Does it just come down to a metter of a) convenience B) desperation for odd pieces you cant source at a wrecker etc?

I;m going to need a few bolt/screw things for the front wheel guards soon. Prolly time to play with fast s/w =)
