number plate/rego question

I've justed test drove the r34 today and .... i was speechless.... it was AMAZING!! well i would have hoped so anyways as i'm upgrading from a camry lolz.

ok.. i have a simple q .. hope some of you guys in NSW could help out.

1) i plan to probably buy on thurs and as the car is not registered, get the blue slip/rego done on that day. Now, when i hand over everything, how long would it take to get my number plates? I heard it takes a few days, does this mean i cannot drive the car home? Or will they give me a temp permit thingy.

As long as you are willing to settle on standard yellow plates ($32 plate fee) you can get them the same day over the counter at any RTA.

If you want your own plates or special plates you have to wait until they are made - a few weeks. But you can just take yellow plates temporarily and do a "plate swap" when your new ones arrive.

Theoretically it can happen all in one day.

You have 14 days from when you order them, no matter what they are. and you have 1 day (24 hours) to attach them once received. Make sure you keep the receipt in the car.
