INASNT....footage came out pretty well....due to the fact that no-one was in the passenger seat there is a bit of shake but it's not too bad. Next time will try and mount off the rear parcel shelf for some stability! Also would recommend a fish-eye lens so you get the whole view out of the front windscreen - my view chopped out the far right and left of the windscreen so its a bit hard to see exactly where I was placing the car in the corners. By the way you only got passed AFTER the chequered flag buddy - I've got it on tape :D

ROY - the friends were the window dressing at Autosalon last april.....not often I get a shot of my car with models draped all over it :(

Damn turbo lag in 3rd gear coming onto the straight :D That was a fun last session.

I live in Camberwell, and drive down Vic street to work every morning (work in the city :D) where's the wave / honk? what are you driving?

I live in Richmond and see you coming down Vic St in the mornings occasionally. I'm in a Mazda 6. I'll give ya a honk next time I see you.

Umm... was I behaving myself or being an ass? I have an explanation for that if I was an ass - some clown was tailgating my mate who was following in a red 206, so we played with them all the way to the springvale rd exit... poor bugger... didn't know what was going on!

It was a bit erratic but I guess there are 3 lanes on the SE Arterial for a reason :(

Let's just say that I saw a number of black bursts of smoke from your exhaust :D

Just made me wish I had my car so I could play too....

Inasnt did spin. I might have a rb26 but it only has 211rwkw and crap tyres, nearly no brakes on the last lap and kyb street shocks with a blown rear with no other suspension mods so I think 1.31.86 on the last lap is a pretty good time considering geoff managed a 1.31.60. The one under geoff on the time sheet.

Great turnout guys hope to see you all at the next event. Are passengers allowed at phillip island as it would be alot easier to go quicker earlier if somebody could show me some lines to take. Thanks snowy just listening to what you had to say helped my driving heaps.

Just to ask a stupid question, was it the white Racepace GTR that was (almost?) overtaking everyone on the track...?

That and Snowmans skyline get FREE car(baby)sitting anytime :D

And I vote Snowman gets so drunk at Phillip Island that I have to drive the car home for him.... :)

PS some nice pics there guys!

Gareth - there are instructors at Phillip Island on the Saturday practise day that will come with you. If you think my advise was usefull just wait til you get someone that actually knows what they are doing give you some! LOL.

The good thing about the Saturday is its like the practise session last week but like that all day. AKA - its 20min sessions - not 3 laps. So you get a good 8 laps in each session. Not only that - but if you want an instructor you can get one in ANY session. So for example if you are in the Blue group - you can go up to an instructor during the Red group session and go out then - and then still go out again during your group. The instructors are free too and you can use them as many times as you like.

That bad thing is you use up LOTS of fuel on this day! LOL.

But at the last PIARC weekend we were not allowed "normal" passengers on either day.

$125 per day. For both the Sat and Sunday.

Remember there are no timed sessions on the Sat. So you wont have any offical times unless you also compete on the Sunday.

And for me I find that timed / competition days bring out your best driving. Sometimes something can feel fast but its not. (Good example is understeer is generally faster than oversteer - but it feels the opposite). So unless you have your laps regulary timed you don't know if you are improving.

So anyone thinking of going down that hasn't been before I would strongly recommend you do both days - make a weekend of it - stay down and have a few beers - and make sure Geoff doesnt go anywhere near your cooler pipe unless you want to go for that battle tank look as well.
