I think it's random... with my R33, the compliancer put in 3 seatbelts in the back, but the plate said a 4 seater so I actually had to get the middle belt taken OUT

I just think they go with whatever they feel like on the day LOL

pretty much accurate. Nissan designers from the late 80's to mid 90's were inherently lazy hence the number of interchangable parts between numerous cars from that era.

its not lazy its smart, the more parts there are in common the less parts you have to keep a stock of as spares and the better prices you get on bulk orders.
