I just booked a 2 bdrm twin room apartment that can either have a King size in each room or 2 x single beds in each room.

I would like to share the $295 a night cost. ($150 each).

So the roof is a low 2m high.

I think the top of the 8*4 pool table sits at around 900mm height.

Should i install:

6 downlights (one basically above each pocket)?

4 downlights (one above each edge lengthways)?

3 downlights (in a line going down the center of the table)?

Thoughts?

I think you need one of the proper roof hanging lights still, they look classy and are nice.. So the long box with 2 fluro tubes.

Downlights are too direct and will not give you a smooth light coverage. Your roof may be low but no one will be walking under the light where the table is, and when you shoot you are leaning over the table, so even if the light takes up 30-50cm from the roof, you have 1.5m clearance from the floor and still enough height to play.

If the traditional box is just gonna be coo much of a space hog, at least go for lights that diffuse well and spread an even light over the table, and i recommend the three down the middle personally.

I have a box that I used to use with it. It's still a consideration. But the roof really is extremely low... Even if I mount it directly to the roof without hanging, I'm worried about it being too low and being a head hitting hazard, also worried that it won't throw the light to the far edges of the table.

If I use 6 lights quite close together there shouldn't be too much of a spottedness pattern I'm thinking.

+1 for peoples opinions

I asked a few guys from work, They all seem to like them so I bought a set. $120 for 42 spanners. They look pretty good to me. and have thin heads on them for getting into pain in the ass places. I think I did well
