Understand frustration around extended timeframes in compliance but i'd take a moment before rushing into demanding phone calls. Pretty sure they won't give you the car until the bill is paid, and a rational conversation will get you a lot further than a Jordan Belfort effort.

Cheers Tats

Not the type of person to call and demand stuff anyways, the conversation I had with Iron Chef was very civil.

I cop enough of that in customer service and find it gets you hardly anywhere.

Just got off a lengthy call to Iron Chef and it's currently all bad news with no time frames.

It seems DOTARS has decided to audit the shop and select my car personally for an audit.

mate I'm sorry to hear that you are the unlucky one, and it is hard not to wonder if DOTARS monitor forums and decided to go after you....

And I understand the pain because my Cima was held up for ages in compliance too....every week I had to get into the wrong car to drive down here was a PITA.

BUT.....in the end you decided to import a car yourself instead of buying something locally. You almost certainly paid far less and got a much better car than you if you bought locally. The risk of course is that you are taking on any delays and unexpected costs, and in this case you have been unlucky.

It really is neither your broker nor your compliancer's fault that there has been a delay; you've just been unlucky this time.

In the end, you did have a choice to go to Parramatta Rd and buy some R grade car with a wound back odometer at top dollar, but you could have taken it home the same day.

Easter cruise!!! :P

Not sure about Happenings over the Weekend as in Family get togethers etc but I did think this...

I'm sure he would like to witness some awesomeness... Maybe a Sinista joy ride? :D

Wait I could have gone and seen those guys and picked up a R grade for the same price?! Damn I missed out :P

As everyone has been saying the wait is going to be well worth it.

Got some good news that I might be shipped off to NZ for 3 months to help train some new staff so fingers crossed that goes ahead because the South African one didn't

I think my younger brother is starting to look into buying a GTR, R32 of course. This makes me excited.

Pretty sure he is gonna look at his finances to see if needs to sell his Audi or keep it as a daily.

Then to find one here or import, after Dan's case I'm a little worried :/

If you do try using Jspec might be "easier" mine was hassleless but then again things change. Choose Melbourne as your delivery port these less cars to be complianced that side unlike NSW where they probably complicance for other states without a port.

    • January or Feb is it booked in for turbo fitment?
    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
