i normally download 1 maybe 2 movies a week, around 700mb each, 2-4 episodes of tv shows or anime a week, around 170mb to 350mb depending on how long the ep goes for and bunch of music maybe every 2 months.

5600mb of movies

2040mb of anime (Naruto, Bleach, DeathNote)

1400mb of tv shows (Heroes)

175mb of music

so all up i download about 9215mb per month at MAX

How the hell do you rack up 40-50gb? i wouldnt know what to do with the other 30-40gb...

How the hell do you rack up 40-50gb? i wouldnt know what to do with the other 30-40gb...

4-5 episodes of whatever i'm watching at the moment (Heroes, House, Scrubs, Prison Break, Top Gear and others) a week

2-3 Movies a week (variable)

a bunch of wow-videos (although, i'm hardly playing now so this is on a rapid decline)

Now that i'm not playing wow anymore, the occasional game

PC Updates for 3 pc's

I youtube/google video quite a lot as well

Anything that i feel like.

I pay ~$60 a month from velocity for their split 32gb/32gb plan.

When i was on Dialup back in 2000 and before, i'd sit on 14-15gb a month (200-300mb a day on dialup, lol) - prior to moving to canberra and wow, i was doing upto 150gb/month.

I just don't care when i click - its the way the web should be.

In regards to the whole "not-paying for software/media" aspect, i generally do if its worth it - i just try something for a bit beforehand to see if its what i need. Infact my inbox is filling up with registration information now. ugh.

So that i don't screw up the thread above with spam i will spam this one. AS IF I AM A NERD, just because i whore up SAU and work in IT and look like a nerd does not mean i am a NERD... to all of you who called me a nerd...

YOU ARE!!!

FURTHER TO THIS wikipedia defines nerd as...

Somebody who passionately pursues intellectual or esoteric knowledge or pastimes, rather than engaging in a social life, participating in organized sports, or other mainstream activities. The Merriam-Webster definition is an "unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person; especially: one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits."

best line ever "unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person"

:D

nerd might be uncalled for... emo certainly isn't ;P

I have internet again!!!! *does a dance*

wow that was a hard week.... lol

If telstra supplied it, and its actually broken - probably. Depends on the shop i believe as some of them are franchised and being franchises couldn't care less about their parents customers.

Ring ahead if in doubt.

and how do you knows its the problem?

well I didn't for sure... but it started flashing the lights all weird and randomly.. and no amount of restarting or anything would fix it... tried to get online for about 4 hours (on and off) before I gave up (and bigpond is never usually down that long) so I assumed it was the modem. It was about 2 or 3 years old.

anyway I got a new one on Friday, took me until today to get it set up :D

took an hour to get thru to tech support :)

i download an average of about 30 gig a mounth and thats mainly tv shows

I really enjoyed it, its a shame that people now have to resort to downloading because they dont want to pay $15 for the experience of sitting in a dirty theatre with broken chairs, Chatty smart ass teens, and kids who run up and down the stairs, and the occasional movie goers that laugh like its the first time theyve ever seen comedy

When happy feet came out i went to see it, 90% of the movie had kids running up and down stairs and dancing and screaming at the front under the screen. Now some may think why didnt you just ask for your money back? well if i did, id use it to see the movie again at another time, and i doubt that experience would be much different. and unfourtunetly if you dont leave the theatre within 15 minutes of the movie starting, you cant get a refund... i was on the edge of never paying to see a movie ever again

I then went to see Ghost Rider, that was the worst piece of shit ive ever seen. aside from the smartasses in the theatre, the film was just crap. the best bit was when toula was being interviewed, thats it.

After that i vowed never to pay to see a movie in a theatre.

Now when movies like this come out, it makes me feel bad cause its a great movie, but if i go to hoyts and pay $15, how much of that is actually going to the film makers? id rather send Zack Snyder or Frank Miller or warner brothers or whoever $50 (whilest keeping my copy...) and say thanks for an awesome movie. instead of going to an over-priced, under-classed cinema and feel ripped off afterwards, Unfourtunetly i enjoy movies more when i havent paid to see it at the theatre, mainly because if i did pay for it id be sadly dissapointed of the quality of experience, which would bring down my opinion of the movie.

Although, i might go see 300 at the cinema just cause it was an awesome movie, might even go up to sydney and catch it on IMAX...

Will definetly grab this movie when its out on DVD (legit-ly...)
