Can everyone post up there best times of the day

Pauls best was 12.34 ET 60' 1.763 MPH 112.15...not too bad in a near stock GTR

Thanks bu5ter for all your effort, i think next time we should be allowed to have an organised bbq. Cant wait to bring the stace racer here next time for a real go at those ETs.

Great day, would never go to a Wed night meeting again. It took about 60 hours of work to convert the N/A car to a new turbo motor, there were still a fair few problems that just didn't get done (like stalling between gearchanges). Despite the frustration was still great, got to do a decent burnout for once :D

Best timeslip of the day was lining up against Adrian, ran a 12.1 @ 117mph, nothing like a bit of healthy competition to push the car!

Edit: And that was on the tractor tyres! Borrowed a set of F&E's BFs to get a 1.7 60' later in the day.

Hey BU5TER Feb daytime? Can be stinking hot that time of year, not best for car or drivers. Might be better March or even April. I think you are on to a winner though. I have been to lots of Wednesday nights to watch and I was like Duncan thinking bit slow. Not enough action and too much waiting fi competing and wasn't overly keen to enter. Plus running SAU and getting all the gang together rather than getting lost amoungst the hectic GEMNI's or sick FALCON's. See if can get own day as in full SAU day only and then allows for more to come right? If not enough I could get some zed boys you can play with or against? They are not all slow heavy boats.

Hey Brendan, Hooray.......... from us as well. :burnout:

For all of those who were concerned. No there was nothing wrong, Humbla (Genelle) just forgot to engage 1st gear before doing a fantastic launch. You have those kinda days don't you. :Paranoid:

And yes those lights were kinda funny. Why do the top two lights go off and on like that? It's a little confusing when you are trying to concentrate on dragging to your heart's content. :bahaha:

After that it was back to the 15s but she did have a "moment of clarity" where it was decided that more boost, split dump, less tyre pressure and a diff cradle may be required before the next run. :boinkcar:

Yes Adrian. In answer to your question she has caught "the bug". :D

Enjoy !

Lol at stace!!  I knew it was some garage! :D

Nice to meet u moanie, unfortunately I don't own powerplay!!!!, just a little shed/garage with tools and a dirty floor.

we will definately be racing each other at the next one.

Did anyone see that very funny incident when Paul drove Sticker Dave's car for the 1st time. Stopped and waiting in the staging area he could'nt start the car again because of the turbo timer . Dave had to call instructions from the grand stand. "press this....than turn that.....". Paul seemed to have no luck, pressing all the wrong buttons, including setting the alarm off. VERY FUNNY, certainly cracked the officals up. When Paul was staged and ready the starter lent into the car window and said, "now remember, 1st is to the left, then up, and maybe you should put your window up!".

BTW....I love going to that track. Wasnt even racing, just being there was enough to get my hands shaking and my pulse racing. Can't wait till next time when I can have a drive, if I haven't lost my nerve!.

two.06l,

nice racing i enjoyed it, i remember one run i had with you i ran 176km/h which was 10km/hr higher than any other trap speed but i jumped the start and didnt get a time, doh!

you got a 13.0 i think that run, i will have to search through the piles of slips.

    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lymphomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, conjuring more rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
