They're very reliable, have really good handling, lookg good.

They're not very powerful however. Maybe a bit faster than the new celicas.

I'm pretty sure its faster (def. better looking) than a prelude.

Its fast enough, it still goes well.

It should put all those cars u mentioned under.

From memory I think the non-turbos were around 140-144kW.....can't remember. Im sure u'll be able to find the exact figures somewhere on this forum.

welcome to the forum, if you have used search button then you've already got most of answers.

  • They are rare I've drove Series Two - they are pretty good with minor mod. (pod, ECU, EXHAUST....etc..etc)

ALL SKYLINES ARE POWER Everything, so they are Great value for money, Hardly ever breaks down (exapt damm thieves). they are top car, bang for buck:thumbsup:

As far as insurance goes IN Western Australia, there is not much difference, they are both categories as IMPORT and NO ONE will touch it. :)

if you have only money for car and dont want to spend too much money on the car then save up more and buy Turbo skyline

I hope this give you some idea.

Actually GTS is RB20E - 100kw of pure SOHC power, agree with Joe, don't go there if you don't have to. GTS25's post '96 have 147kw at the engine.

Keep in mind the R33 is relatively heavy and a GTS25 is similar/slightly higher in power to the cars you've listed. But the engines have totally different characters, not much happening down low and in the mid range on the VTEC Honda's, whereas the RB NA engine is all about the mid range.....

Also the Skyline is RWD (or AWD for the GTS4), so they don't understeer round corners like the FWD Hondas etc do.

They are stupidly reliable, keep in mind it is fundamentally the same engine as the GTR has, and those can run 500hp all year and not break!

Test drive them all and see which you prefer....

hey, do u have msn? i wanna talk skylines with u :P

oh and full comp. Insurance means $$$$$. Just cars quoted me $3500 full comp. But i took the 3rd party Fire and theft. $750. But they'll only refund you 5000 with 800 excess. So if someone steals it, you only get $4200 back. and if you smash something with your car they'll pay out up to $50mil (this means don't go crashing into a ferrario show room with a porsche showroom next door!)
