I have my stock skyline (r33 gts-t) mags lying around that i was going to use for when at the drags. I have thought about the possibility of having the mags machined as to change their appearance a little. I have spoken to a company who repair / machine damaged mags and they say they could possibly do it depending on what i had in mind. What are your thoughts and opinions on this.

well, it's all personal preference. I actually don't see how you can change the appearance that much. i.e. it's not going to make it look much different at all.

I would also be weary of doing this to make sure the bloke doing it knows what he's doing, otherwise it won't be balanced. Get your wheel balanced after you do it.

I wouldn't take too much out. You could introduce areas that lead to stress concentrations causing cracking. Should be ok if you are careful about it and don't machine out too much as the standard wheels are most likely over engineered. Sharp edges etc cause stress concentrations, hence the reason for edges being filleted a lot.
